I activated my goggles finally and let my son wear them as I flew.  He said it was cool, but the ony thing is he felt motion sick as he was not in control of the flying and when I turned or stopped it affected him.

I would like to use them more with him but I learned that when they are on, the googles take over some of the camera functions and away from the RC.  Is there a way to keep this from happening and to just have them as an observation platform?

Thanks

Not good news for your son but wow - they must be very realistic to get that sense from them. I must try them one day.

Yeah, he said it was pretty intense.  I'll have to give it go myself, but I dont' think I can fly with them on and stay oriented.

With pretty much any glasses/goggles your depth of field is distorted, things look much closer than they really are, I fly FPV quads and it was one of the hardest things I had to adjust to. Flying buddies have told me I need to sit down while flying FPV, they say I look like I'm dancing in a Disco when standing.

I get motion sick at a 4D ride, so I'm a bit concerned on the whole VR thing.  My boy was sitting in the bed of my truck while I was flying.

That would be interesting to watch!

I hope that you're able to get some use out of the goggles.  I don't do the VR thing for that very reason.  I'm good looking at a screen to see what is happening.  I don't need to strap the screen to my head.

I think they may be illegal here in the UK without a spotter so I may jut have to borrow a pair.
