Hi everyone happy 4th. My camera was working fine yesterday. i have video feed can see everything. but it will not take a photo or video when i hit record a little box flashes for a second but thats. it. reinstalled Go app  card is good unless something happened to it sitting over night? it has me stumped great video feed but will not record this is a phantom 3 standard.. no crashes pulled cables out re installed them same thing..worked fine yesterday.i have been at it all day with no luck. any help greatly appreciated.

Hi, just a thought.
You mentioned that you had already reinstalled the Go App.
Did you clear the internet cache and cookies, then reboot your device, before reinstalling the app?
That small procedure may help you. If it did not, then I’m stumped...
It was just a shot, in the darkened rc field. ;-)

Try using the Go App to re-format the SD card in the camera on the aircraft. Make sure you copy off any movies or photos you want to keep first. Formatting clears the card completely.

Or just try a different SD card and see if you get same result.

Hi thanks for the reply I was going to do this  but I am not sure  will it delete all files even for the quad. there is no other files on the card no videos no pictures. im confused I here people say format it then others say you better save the quad files to your pc first.? Thanks.

No actually I didnt even think to try that have to recharge quad battery before I can  most likely tomorrow, Thanks for your reply.

Thanks I am going to go and get one any suggested cards that are better to use.? I still have the original SD in it  only because I only have one battery and the card last threw a cycle.

If you are talking about the firmware update files, yes it will delete them, but you do not need them on the card once you have done the update anyway. A format erases EVERYTHING. It is a good idea to do a format quite frequently, as the aircraft stores all sorts of useless files on there, clogging up the card.

You do not really need to get another card unless the format does not do the trick. If you buy another, Get a Sandisk Extreme Pro card, they are the best.

As other people have suggested:
1 Try an alternative memory card - ideally format first.

2 Else, reformat your "Go To" default card and try again.

There are no files on the micro sd card that you need or want to keep.
Once you download the desired pics and videos you wish to save, to your computer, you may format the sd card, and start with it clean and free of any unnecessary data.


Unless you have new intelligent batteries which need updating. ;-)

Ok now I know that lol I will format it if it don't work ill look at getting a new SD.  I had so many telling me not to format till I got the dji files off. Glad you cleared that up. Thanks. will post results.

When I was a teen the closet you got to a RC plane  was a gas powered engine  no remote but 30 feet of string to tie to it to fly it.lol yeah im old I guess.?

Hello everyone. Well i worked on my quad till the we early hours i am like that wont stop till i figure it out.lol Ok so some great knowledge here I tried formatting the card in the drone kept getting TIME OUT TRY AGAIN. Did it a few times. so i put it in my mac and formatted it and it worked ? so i put it in the drone turn everything on hit the record button and to my surprise i heard the little ding. made me happy. it was recording. But now my video or camera images are very dark almost to the point you cant see it if i put it in front of a bright light you can see the light but not well. where as before i formatted it ,it had a perfect picture. im thinking card is junk? Or maybe im wrong here any idea why after formatting it went so dark? Thanks  great site.

The sd card shouldn’t affect your camera ability to record or show the scene in front of the lens.


It must be something else... But try a new sd card, to be sure.... ;-)

Reporting back,, i have solved the issues have my video and photos back, Got a new sandisk 64GB ultra i think it is.  put it in and bam everything started working. I wanted to thank everyone for all there help Very much appreciated Finally a forum that is cool helpful and no bashing for simple questions Thanks for the help.

I have the same issue as Pumpkinman... I have the mavic mini using the fly app on android galaxy tab A 8inch.. it's been working fine for over a week since  I bought this, and now I can no longer record or take pictures... I have to use a 3rd party screen capture app now if I want to record any thing.... any help would greatly be appreciated.,..

I have a p3s that has given me a lot of joy over the years that has been running on samsung s6 for four years now. It recently refused to record, it only agreed when i updated firmaware, it refused a second time and i cleared cache which worked. it then stopped again where i tried clearing a lot of junk on the s6 which worked. it has stopped again and i have tried formatting, clearing cache, clearing junk, even deleted log files. what else may i try as it seems the bird is no longer reliable (besides trashing it)

Same problem, try to play back thru goggles and there is nothing there. It worked before. It shows recording and looks normal. There is an option to playback thru aircraft instead of googles. That works, at least for me. Don't know what changed or why. I fly and older mavic pro platinum. You have to have the quad poweded up to see video.

I have an issue where my phantom 3pro can't record or capture any videos..  video feed is great.   I have tried new SD cards and all the methods I know .   can anyone please help me.
