So i am utterly shattered that after only having my phantom 3 for a week, the body has cracked. I had a crash inside and this time, as well as the propellor snapping, the area holding one of the motors has snapped completely out of the body. As far as i can tell the motor is fine but now i need to replace the shell.

Does anyone know any online stores selling the replacement shells yet????

Any help would be much appreciated.

use lots of 10min. epoxy, and splints to join parts if necessary, im an expert at fixing crashed rc stuff
the p2 shells are NOT the same, indicator lights are smaller, and the screw locations are different because this is a one piece board where the p2 had separates.

They are not, the old P2 shells can be opened easily with screws. The P3 shell has screws and hooks that snap in. Its hard to open and you will maybe scratch it up. The P3 is clearly not made to be opened, its a closed system and i guess DJI dont want you to open it. The 4 seperate ESCs are no more, its all one piece now with the motherboard

I am in the same situation, however I was able to repair mine for the time being.I spoke with the DJI Support Center and they said replacement parts should be available in about three weeks.

Wow! That would keep me from buying one.....sticking to my P2.

Some of the Phantom 2's had problems with case separations or gaps between the top and bottom case halves.
The tabs were added to keep the parts together better with the addition of the screws.

If you've ever taken a tv remote control apart successfully, then you won't have a problem.

DJI adding the motor speed controllers to the motherboard is slightly concerning, but I see why they did and believe that reduced the weight of the quad.

All of these Rube Goldberg repairs scare the crap out of me. Adding weight on a balanced structure to just one arm is going to have a major change in performance and longevity of the quad. Think before you glue.

So are the ESCs part of the main board? If you have a bad ESC, change the motherboard with all the ESC's?

I've only seen pictures of the board, not had one in front of me to tear down. I would imagine that you have to replace the entire board. From what I have seen, you as John Drone Flyer probably repair board ESC.

Not knowing what functional testing is done to the boards, I suspect that DJI will offer the boardr to the service centers as re manufactured boards.

Unless you crashed the quad, they are warrantied for a year.

You know how electronics go with more functionally, and less cost.

Crashed my quad on the 4th.  Couldn't find the damn shell in stock anywhere and sure as hell was not going to send it to DJI for repair.  I found one site that had part 30 listed in stock.  Emailed them to ask if it was actually in stock and they said it was.  I ordered with expedited shipping and just got it yesterday!  Can't wait to get this baby back in the air!
