Hey guys, I shot this video a couple of weeks ago in Greece. Hope you guys like it!

Absolutely beautiful place, great video!! Isn't there a concert venue close by? I remember watching a concert with Yanni as the artist with the Parthenon in the back drop at night, it was amazing. Great Flying BTW ;-)

Yes, they still use the theatre! You can see a shot of it @1:09

When I shot the video, I hadn't had much practice with any drone. I'm slowly learning!

Its a great video, I enjoyed it, including the soundtrack, it had me singing away lol. Though I'm sure the music is copyright protected, unless of course you've shelled out a few quid for usage. Nevertheless great video.

Thanks! Yes, unfortunately the music is copyrighted. I doubt I can get the rights to use such a known song from Gladiator. I love the song so I felt it went well with my video.

Efharisto para poli Jannistmb! Yes, I was very worried when I flew it, since there were many people during the day. I was able to find a quiet street right near the Acropolis. I'm still in Greece up until August 28th! I have a lot more filming to do with beaches and other landscapes.

Did you took any special permission to fly there?I am always nervous when i fly in places like this in Greece you never know who will come to ask you what are you doing.

I read online you need to fill out a form to get permission to fly in Greece. I didn't have enough time to do that. I flew it without permission. I was nervous but I don't think anyone would have stopped me, unless it was the police who were patrolling near the acropolis.

You have already by using the soundtrack and posting here has 'breeched copyright', so something to consider as a priority! In addition you have admitted to flying illegally, so something else to consider and rectify for future flights. As a new pilot you might not be aware of aviation law, so do do some research before you encounter trouble. It is your responsibility, remember this.   

Your video is great and it would be a shame not to see more from you.

thanks for the feedback M2Wair. I had already read up on the Laws in Canada, (Where I am from), but only read the ones in Greece when I had arrived the same day. I know, I must be careful and will be more careful on future flying.

Other than registration Greece also has a "do not film archaeological sites" rule as well so broke that too....
Greece has plenty of crazy laws, huge numbers of them.  But because of that most are ignored or due to the corruption solved with some euros.

The same archaeological laws saw myself and others threatened with a 2000 euro fine for taking a photograph (not touching,moving,disturbing) 8m under the sea on a common dive site.  Yet you go to every bar and they have 10 of the things dragged up from the sea bed used to grow plants and trees in as decoration.

That said, be careful, other countries are far less forgiving (Italy comes to mind from that region where they regularly dish out fines of 10s of thousands of euros).
