It seems we need a product like this soon for our phantom 3s. Even with the gimbal lock that is supplied, the entire assembly still sags badly on the 4 gimbal rubber boots when the phantom is placed in the vertical postition during transport. Also a product like this would prevent the need for our current gimbal lock and make a nice 2 in 1 combo. (also, someone through away my junk-looking factory gimbal lock so i'm in even more need for this).

anyone know if there is already something like this out there that will work?

there's this which seems good but it's in China who knows when it will get to the USA.

ya it was expensive. the price was OTD though so thats good. I bought it seeing i didnt have any other options to transport my phantom 3 in my new fearless backpack.

a scandal that price ! produced in China it costs maximum 15 RMB (2,5 USD).

I also bought the green combo piece from the UK...horribly overpriced but fits extremely well and takes care of both issues. Easy on & off.

I use this, which successfuly isolates the camera to the base of the gimbal. The snap-in gimbal protector between the legs works great too.
