Hey all,
Have had the Inspire 1 now for two days (replacing a Phantom 3 Pro). Loving it.

I was wondering if anyone knew of any cases for the I1 that I could leave the camera gimbal installed as well as the props. I know the case would be huge to leave it in the mode, but I was just curious if anyone found one and actually purchased it and has been using it so we could see your review of it.

Anyways, thanks in advance.

I leave my Inspire fully built all the time.   I just pick it up, throw it in the back of the car (no case) and am flying within a couple of minutes of arrival.

As far as I'm concerned there are pros and cons:

Pros - Easy and convenient, less wear and tear on parts as they aren't being pulled on and off constantly, easier to walk long distances to final location.

Cons- Camera may bounce around on gimbal while not powered, by building the bird each flight it forces you to informally check all the parts, more likely to notice something wrong before flying.

I've flown this way for 3 months and have had no problems whatsoever.    I've only had the props off to replace broken ones or move to the quick release version.

Yeah I've been doing this while driving to the park near my house for practicing. Just wanting a case that can accomdate it fully built when traveling farther. Maybe I'll see about getting a generic case with foam and cut it myself. Would be nice if someone made a case though for fully build I1's!

Looks like there is a landing mode case, but the props need to be taken off
Not sure if it is worth the $500 USD.

I guess for now, I'll stick with the DJI case. That $500 can go towards the slave transmitter.

I bought the Pelican 1690, you can configure the foam any way you like. I set mine up so you can leave the Gimbal on or off, the landing gear in or out of travel mode but youll have to take off props. Cost $340.

That's the way I carry mine too , back seat of a RAV4 all set and ready ,case and second monitor ,tripod etc in rear hatch area.... I can be in the air in a few minutes this way.
I don't suggest leaving it in the parked car in plain sight for very long though , or on a real hot day either..

I did my custom foam with HPRC 2730W on landing mode with gimball attached, I use the quick release prop and it's easy to just take the bird out and attached the prop and fly.  the site I build my foam has the 3D measurements for the I1, battery, charger, Gimball case, etc... so you can re-arrange it how you want it and they will cut it for you and you can select whatever case you want, my next case will be bigger but I'm including my DSLR camera into it.  check out www.mycasebuilder.com

here's the picture of my HPRC 2730W, I think it's the smallest case that can accommodate landing mode with 2 remotes and it's very light case 20lbs
