Finally got to get her back out and flying again. Did some custom camera settings/coloring tests near my home in Downtown San Diego.

Yes my settings for 95% of this short montage of clips were:

Color Profile: LOG
Style: Custom (-1 Sharpness, -3 Contrast, -2 Saturation)
ND Filter (almost always except for sunset, near night flights)
3840 x 2160 30fps
Manual Shutter ISO 100 1/120 (lowest shutter I could get without blowing highlights) -- Can't wait to get my stronger ND filters from Renaat so I can maintain a true 180 degree shutter.

Post:
Copy  to Raided External
Import to FCPx
Create Project Timeline in native resolution 3840 x 2160 in 23.98 fps ( I like to selectively slow down footage slightly for smoother movements)
Rough Cut with base soundtrack
Initial Export to view rough-cut
Export timeline via XML to Resolve for coloring (FCPx color tools work as well but not as precise)
Re-import XML Roundtrip from Resolve
Add transitions, effects,
Export as native resolution 3840 x 2160 (UHD) in Prores Proxy
Upload file to Vimeo and let them compress the hell out of it =)

amazing footage!!! one thing I notice about the I1's camera is the pans and tilts can be abit sudden or heavy where yours are really smooth.

Yes I've slowed down my wheel speed to 30% I believe and live by the mantra of "easy does it" I bought my inspire as a filming tool not a "how far and fast can I take my inspire"

Mostly my own grade but a Osiris M31 added at the end to a few of the clips at 20% Opacity for a little teal/orange look to the city shots.

by "chipping" do you mean stutters? Yes I've noticed that as well. Sometimes it happens sometimes it doesn't. The camera isn't the best but it works for most web-based applications. Most people wouldn't even notice that.

You had no problem flying with the new firmware upgrade?

Congrats on the bird back, here at Dominican Republic we say that the life it is not the same without the drone anymore! lol

Hey Scooter...nice work m8 and I know you have helped me in the past with settings. Their are afew amazing artist on this post  including Jim. I would like your opinions on something I did & where you guys think I could improve or what mistakes I may have made. Honest criticism can only improve my abilities. If we were to fly our birds in City centres and over Stadiums in the UK, we would be getting call from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) followed by a hefty fine and probably having your commercial aerial operations license revoked from the CAA.

Yeah I'm flying for recreation which the FAA only has guidelines as of right now. No official laws are on the books. I didn't actually fly over the stadium nor will I. The crop factor make things appear closer than they are.

For the most part I always try to obey the guidelines.

Mine is in for repair now. I've been really wondering this a lot.  Does it look like new now apsince getting if back. Also, do you realize any lower performance than before or just any sort of flaw? Thanks

Flys better than before I sent it in. I had major drifting, loss of signal issues prior to the repairs. Flys perfect now.

I found when I received my replacement that the rotor arms were much stiffer hardly any movement compared to my original aircraft which had some definite movement/ play around the centre connection as reported by many in the early release.

Nice to see you back in the air though.  Hope you got your Peli case also !!
