Can Mavic air record audio as well? I know that the videos on the mobile phone gets the audio recorded...but is there a way we record the video on the drone footage in SD card?

No, and apart from the noise of the propellers you would not hear anything. In post production however, you could take the sound from the footage recorded on your mobile device and add it to the original footage that comes from the SD card.

There is no sound on the original video when recording since the aircraft doesn't have microphone. If there is a need, you can cache the transmission video and enable the audio sound recording in the app (General Settings). Check the attachment below. If you have another concern, please let us know.

The cached version is the only option, but it will record a lot of unwanted noise probably.
If you really want good audio, I would suggest making separate audio recordings (when the drone is off) and add them later in post.

The device can as your recording into the video cache but not the actual drone.

Download the audio of a swarm of angry bees and add it to the footage in post. Basically the same as recording off the drone.
