The last 2 were good, but you can only do so much with low light right?

not much to see there HDR would be good there

A bit dark and not much to see there lol. You should try shooting in RAW and then bring out the shadows a bit

it was shot in Raw.

The third one turned out to be the best.  I think it's because there are the least shadows on that, and the lighter greens show better.  What were your settings for these?

Woe, the third one is the best if you consider light conditions. Ie there is something to see in the shadows as well. The upper part of all them are nice since they have the sunset in them.
That was the "technical" review. Next I have a question for you, what mood did you want to "send" to us with them? It's a little bit of the part of telling a story with a photo.

What message are you trying to give us? Night time shots, or sunset photos etc.

So from a story telling perspective and photo quality perspective I like the first one best since there is a little bit of "location" in it and that little water hole adds value in that one compared to #4 when it's "cropped" so strange, i.e. the water is "cut of" partly.

I hope you understand my 2-3 points here.

Low light is what I'm going for.
planning on doing some night shot buy figure I start with light first.
Hoping for some insight to improve my photo editing.

Did you try to edit the shots? Or maybe thats what you were going for, dark shots? Pass one of those DNGs and I will edit it and give you some pointers on what to do

The problem is that its hard for me to know how the scenery was actually looking since I wasn't there lol. When you edit and color grade your shots its easier since you know and remember how the light and colors where acting on the subjects

I use Lightroom to make my edits. Let me know if you want me to help you with the workflow I use.

I think all the game is with the settings to find the right one for those light conditions.But still i like the result i am sure next time you will make much better shots thank you.

and in this case, practice is just soooo much fun!!  I"m going out tonight as well!  Still working on getting those perfect shots, as well as learning the right settings.

Yeah, a little of the dark side for sure. However I like the light reflections coming off the water. Wondered if you got the drone lower to the water and focused on the light reflecting off the sunset. Might get some better results at this time of day. Otherwise some creative cropping helps. Like this..
