Does anyone know what the power curves look like for the Mavic Air? I want to work out what is the optimum speed for range or distance travelled. I imagine the speed that will give me the most meters covered will be different than the speed that will give me the most air time (15.5 mph/ 26 kph according to the specs).


Does DJI calculate this on RTH to ensure the craft makes it home with as much battery life left as possible? I notice the RTH is often around 17 mph.

Be careful about the wind and it play the major role on how far you can go. The RTH indicator can’t calculate the wind effect accurately. See post here about lost the drone when face head wind when return.

I also read something elsewhere that said around 60% RPM is the best range - when in Sport mode you can see the curve and motor percentage like so:



I might see if I can run some experiments using the same Litchi mission at different cruising speeds and see which one nets me the best range.
