I just successfully updated the latest Spark firmware with DJI Assistant 2, BUT the RC (WiFi connection) is stuck even after 20 min trying to download the 7.0 MB file V 01 00.0600 to my tablet. What is the problem? Any idea?

I think DJI botched it with this RC update. Some other cases of  RC becoming useless emerged, I will not update it if asked.
And if their excuse is that your phone is not on the compatible devices list, well, it's bloody ridiculous. There are about 30 really specific devices on that list, they should have that in the comercial: don't buy a Spark if you don't own an Iphone 8. Ridiculous.
My Xperia XZ Premium isn't on that list and I don't expect it to be anytime soon. Damn it, DJI, get your house in order.

Aaaaaaand there is DJI, going to blame it on the phone/tablet when it has been working fine in the past.

I just talked to a friend of mine that owns a Spark and uses a Samsung S8, I wanted to warn him about the RC update, he just updated yesterday. Everything's fine with his RC.
So I'm planning to borrow a compatible device from a colleague to update my RC. I'd probably have to do all the freaking linking again.

I updated my rc yesterday with a non compatible device and no problems, all working OK.

This issue is too common to my taste. I'm affraid to update my toy.

Finally after many re-try, off and on it would appear that the update is done, mind you I still have to try it. My recommendation is: just be very, very patient, and I agree with one post; NOT to blame it on the tablet or phone device that has worked before!

What apk version were the one that failed Rc update using? In the past it was only 4.1.15 whih was working, all the others resulting in either stop at 5% either bricked RC, I had this long ago.

Did you change your WiFi connection from RC to internet connection before hitting the download button?

Mine did the same thing. Took about 5 tries and was finally successful. Went through the battery fast

My RC also get killed by the new updates which now it have no SSID broadcast.
No matter what sort of steps, it's not coming back.

Mine went to 100 % and then returned to 99% during RC update. However everything seems to be normal for now.

Yes. Exactly what i did BUT the update doesnt start, its stuck at 0%!!!

And now i dont want to update the ac through dji ass2 because then i cant update the remote, so ill end up with an unusable drone, coz i read that you need to update both ac and rc for it to work and fly ok afterwards!!!

Question, can you upgrade from 4.2.12 or it has to be done exclusively on 4.2.21???

I finally got it done, had to switch from connected to wifi to drone.

Just do on trying it will catch up

About phone. I made a update on Galaxy S6 (compatybility devices) and my RC was bricked!!!

Updated to the latest firmware on my Samsung S7 via the DJi Go 4 app and all working just fine..

Remote process is not able to stand along with phone processor, try with iphone or uninstall app and install it again and try it.
