Has anyone used the lightbridge 2 as a stand alone?

We own a m600 and a freefly alta 8.... we have been using a connex for video downlink on the alta with barely acceptable results. I just ripped out the lightbridge from the m600 and mounted it on my my movi pro.....got everythign working and then realized the lightbridge 2 is stuck on 2.4 ghz....... anyways im planning a range test tommorow on the ground  with the futaba 14sg, movi pro, alta 8 and lightbrigde. but wondering if anyone is as crazy as me to try this...
