my ipad can not read the mov files produced by the phantom 4. what can I do?

Sorry for the trouble. May I know if the problem is still the same when extracting the files to the computer or it is only in the iPad? What is the exact model of iPad and IOS version you are using? Do you have error message?

only Ipad 4 e on iphone 5s. >>> file mov in fullHD. error message is "the file can not be read" . ios > last version

Can I please ask:

What is the format of the video file(4K, 60 fps, H264, MOV or MP4) etc ?

What App/program are you trying to view/play the file with ?

Can you play that clip on your laptop or PC/Mac etc?

Try recording a tiny 20/30 sec film clip initially using the same settings you have been using can you play that ?

If not, then lower or start at the bottom and work up, record a 20/30 sec clip at 720p, 30 fps, does that work ?

Hi

Probably just the spec of the iPad (check OS) or the App/Program used to play the video.

For example on my iMac and using Final Cut Pro for editing, H264 it could handle, but when I tried some 4K video H265 it would not work.
Turns out the latest version of Final Cut Pro can handle it, so I upgraded and all works fine.

Summary
Check the spec for the iPad or OS(Operating system) or App/Program(check they are the latest versions) used to view/play the video.

Have a quick Google as well.......literally search iPad 4 unable to play XYZ etc.

In the mean time someone who has similar issues might be able to answer that.

Have a hunt around on the Apple website

There is the option to record in MP4 rather than MOV. Could that resolve your problem?

He has an Apple device, and Apple devices prefer MOV files.

OK GB. I have no experience of Apple devices. Since the two recording options are available. I thought it might be worth a try - particularly as his system seems not to like MOV.
Grounded by RAIN here - the first in weeks.

I sympathise, grounded here by high winds and periodic rain. I was going out to shoot a construction project today, I often shoot them on Sundays because no-one is around, but the weather conditions are awful.

Yeah, today would have been good for an update on the major roadworks (bypass) around a nearby town. Sunday sunrise shoot whilst it's deserted. Rain stopped play (and it's breezy too)
