Curious as to what the most common failure points are on the Mavic  Air.

So far, i had firmware/software problems. Before the upgrades, had a perfect little beast of a MA. Could change once i get it back from China though, so far, i have no idea what they found wrong.

Aw come on, you're missing out on a great life experience and the chance to tell you grandchildren how you once spent two hours tramping through the dark woods hunting for your downed Mavic using just the RC signal strength and desperately fighting a dying battery and the fading light.

It all depends on how fast you were traveling and what did you hit? If you were in Sport Mode traveling at 42 MPH and hit a wall then obviously the damage would be more than traveling in APAS colliding sideways with a tree.

Almost true, also depends on how high were you when you crashed . The reason I thought of all this was because I crashed mine and a rear leg broke off. I made me realize that a lot of other people who have shown pictures of a crashed Mavic Air also had that as the major damage. I was wondering if it was a particular weak spot.

I had the exact price break off, unfortunately I didn't notice it was missing until I had walked away from where I found it. I Google's mavic air collision parts and found places that sell the whole leg including the motor for around 20$ each. They also sell a ton of other collision parts for the mavic air.

Well, clearly you should order several and crash them to decide which one is most durable.

I've only crashed my Air once. I think it was my 2nd or 3rd flight while I was still getting to know it. I flew it into a tree probably about 20 feet off the ground which was luckily just grass,. I just about had a heart attack, but when I went to pick it up, I was surprised to see no visible damage at all. I just wiped it off with a damp rag and it looked good as new.

These were parts which were replaced to get my bird back to the sky and cost is half of brand new basic MA. Anyway, i still love it and will get another. Just one little hope that DJI can support equally between iOS and Android

i had my first brush up today for a friend was making little video for his farm, using APAS to get smooth shots near the ground under low hanging tree limb/leaves figured apas will help keep me out of trouble and keep it slow and smooth..then wind kicked up 30 mph gust ..i drifted just enough and had a losing fight with some low hanging tree limbs...all good though, 2 of my props scuffed up was only damage..

I don't actually have a Mavic Air, just a Mavic Pro.
But it's an interesting thread so I thought about it and barring a hardware failure, you may considering adding a column.
The biggest damage was 'To My Pride'

I hit a road sign the other day when I was flying too close. I turned off obstacle avoidance because I wanted a really close shot... then got too close. Anyway, drone clipped the sign and kept on flying. When I landed I see that one propeller has about 3/4 of an inch missing. And it stayed in the air and stabilized. AMAZING! These drones are pretty hard to crash.

Landed upsidedown with propellers unstoppable dunno why upsidedowness didn't kill propellers.
Put new propellers reflash original firmwares then examine flights, still flies.
After strange remote control pirating where drone returns back exactly however the rc is no longer engaged even at close radii. That triggered sending in the devices for examination though Grapevine demanded four Bill's which I just had to decline. They returned another controller and the same drone. It flies so that disconnection must have been pirated by outsider
