Quick question, what is the IMU port for and what is it capable of?

I am looking to use the port for a controller. Does it relay any feedback? Can it accept some kind of input?

I welcomed myself to the club a couple of days ago. This is terrible CS.
I am looking for an answer to that IMU thing myself.
