Hi All,

Decided to take rthe Mavic Pro out for a spin today when I noticed that one of the landing legs had a crack on it. The leg is loose to touch and I don't really want to try and take off with a leg that is loose. For the life of me I can't understand how this has happened as I have never crashed the drone nor ever had a rough landing. Would like to replace the leg, but only with genuine DJI parts. Does anyone know if you're able to purchse parts direct from DJI ?

Sorry for the inconvenience. I would suggest you contact our support team to report this issue and start up case: (https://www.dji.com/support?site=brandsite&from=nav). You can provide the case number here in case you need further assistance. Thanks for understanding.

From what I understand and specifially dealing with MP/MPP landing gear, you'll have to send it in for DJI to replace it for you. Not sure why they just don't sell the part but, some have speculated it's due to there is antenna assembly in them.

Given that, we might mess things up ripping in to it (yes only 3 screws and it falls off, I know) so DJI prefers to not sell the part to the public.........Or, the maybe there is money to be made in repairs? Not sure which but, seen some guys 3D printing (errr, using wood...) them and doing it themselves, especially the AC's that are out of warranty where a $5 part is going to cost them $100.

Sounds like it would be better to land in grass when possible opposed to concrete or hard dirt.

Thank you all for the replies. Will have a look on EBay today to see what I can see whilst waiting for DJI to get back to me. Still puzzled as to how it happened. Only thing I can come up with is when I start up the drone it shakes for the first second or so. Can't think of anything else that could have caused it.

Yikes! That's scary it can have that much damage without crashing.

Replacing the leg is not that big of a challenge if you take your time and use the right tools. Plenty of videos that show how to do it and you can get genuine parts a lot of places on the web. But if you feel this is above your technical skills, just send it to DJI. The antenna for the drone are in the legs, so you have to be careful when you replace them and make sure you don't do any damage. If you're handy with a screwdriver, shouldn't be any problem though.
