Hey guys,

Can someone tell me what these Forum Points are.   Says I can convert them to USD.   So I assume you collect these and you can get discounts on DJI Purchases???..

So, 180 points is $1 USD?
180 DJI Points = 1 DJI Credit (USD)

Hello there. Thank you for reaching DJI Forum. In regards with the credit, 180 DJI Points = $1 DJI Credit (USD). The minimum number of points required for redemption is 1800. The maximum redeemable amount is 5400 points per month. Redemption applications can be submitted at any time and will be checked on the first working day of each month. You can only submit one application per month. Points can be given and taken away at any time and a banned account will result in a loss of the points associated with it. Also, points are not transferable.

They really add up quick when you post and respond every day. Definately enter all the picture and video contests for extra points. Sometimes you can get bonus points just for voting on a contest or replying to certain contest threads. I've racked up well over $100 in credit pretty easy.

Yep, 1800 points are worth 10 US$

But don't get to exited about it.
Right now, the DJI FX-rate is totaly wrong!

The Credit Summary on the DJI-Store webpage ,

where you can check your available credit and switch to your Currency,

"gives" for 30US (5400 points) just 34 AUD instead of ~40
Or just 21.62 EUR, instead of almost 26!

And even after pointing that out, one month ago: no changes yet!

https://forum.dji.com/thread-156128-1-1.html

Which is really not so nice!

Can an Aussie take the $10 in $US  instead of the so called $AUD equivalent? I'm guessing the answer will be a resounding NO.

Oh yes, but still you get 20% less than people in countries, DJI is charging US$.
Funny enough, Hongkong is getting an almost normal ratio, the ratio for the CNY, however is also 10ish% under the real fx rate!

I understand that it can't, better isn't a day by day conversion.
(Because they calculate in US, there is no reason for not calculating the ratio at the day of the purchase. Just saying)
But using 4 years old rates?

If I would buy something in Europe, p.ex. a osmo mobil 2,
it would already cost the equivalent of 175US (149€)
To the 139 US$, that is already 20% up.
(25.200 for US$ DJI credits countries)
ok, that is normal, kind of!
But paying it with the points, it would even cost the equivalence of 206 US$
(37.800 DJI credits for Euro countries)

Still better as nothing, but is it fair?

Can you provide a adress in a country,  DJI is charging in US?
And how you wanna deal with the warranty, then?

Sorry S-e-ven, I don't understand. Are you asking if I know some-one in the US who would allow me to use their address to get the $US10, and would that present a problem with warranty?

In case you wanna pay in US,  you need to order in an area, where the US is the DJI online shop currency.
Singapore would do, US, Canada, Honduras (I think)
But to do so, you would need to provide a adress there.
And the warranty would be only available in that country.

And for 10 US, i wouldn't even talk about!
I could almost get the Osmo mobil 2 for just my credits, in Singapore or other DJI US$ areas.
But in Europe I am still 50 € short.
Which would be just 20ish, if the fx rate would be up2date

Yeah that happens a lot here. Local dealers protect their sales by refusing to honour warranty claims of items purchased overseas for almost half the price yet made in the same factory.

Two questions.

1. Would the points be of any value in South Africa at a DJI authorised dealer  ?

2. Should DJI not also consider the flight distance as a criteria to earn points?
It would seem that one can be a captain with zero flights or am I wrong. ?
Using the total flight distance as a criteria  would encourage pilots to sync their flight logs and such data might be valuable forthe DJI R&D department.

1. I don't think so. Africa seems to be a white spot on DJI's online shop
Because there are, afaik, the points to redeem

If I could exchange 'em in a flagship store or such, I would do that!
Can I, DJI?

To your second question:

Oh yes, you don't even need to have a DJI product, at least not in your profil linked, just to post a lot, to become a "Captain".
You can see that every now and then

Thank you for your comments S-e-ven.

Being a "Captain" with no or very little flight experience is thus for me not very credible as theory and first-hand experience go hand-in-hand.
So you get "Captains " and  "Captains"  that speak of 1st hand knowledge and experience.

With you having a flight record of over 700 km I salute you Captain.
