It would be intreresting to see who DJI selected to send the first couple of Mavic 2 drones to to prepare reviews for YouTube. it seems like a well orchestrated move on thei end. this can only mean the release has to be in the coming weeks!! cant wait!!

Yes, I'd like to know who I have to off to be one of the lucky DJI product testers. And yes, I know a lot of people will say we're all beta testers these last few releases, but you know what I mean.

I would guess they went out ages ago, way before the original announcement.

Of course they did. On 23 August we will be able to enjoy a lot of tests and reviews only seconds after the launch ;-)

Like with Mavic Air big youtubers like C. Neistat and others received drone a way before to make a review. That is marketing, sir

He doesn't exist on Youtube at least... And if he has released a review already now wherever, it will have been the last time ever that he has received an advance model. But I rather believe that this guy is just one more of the crappy ''MeTubers'' repeating hearsay without having any first hand knowledge at all...

All in All, beta testers or not, im just glad the time is getting closer as i am eager to see what more this drone will pack other than what we all know from the Argos catalog info.

Wonder what is the major issue caused DJI delay their release even. As only delayed over a month it’s too short to fix any hardware problem. Looks like software issue or other reason.

We know nothing about it.
We don't know the details of the sensors (8 bit or 10 bit, who makes it etc) the choice of bit rates and codecs for video and so on.  So we know nothing that allows us to judge how good or bad the cameras will be on either model.
We don't know what "active track 2" is.  No detail on obstacle avoidance (IR or visual or combined etc).
We don't know the physical size or weight.

Other than the model names theres very little we DO know.

I completely agree with you, there is actually very little specs we do know, other than the visual look and that it looks like 2 versions..for now, and that one is a zoom  camera and the other a 1" sensor. but the real beefy details are still missing, we need the meat to the bone! ha! so excited about this release! cant wait.

my best bet is the delay was caused by production hold ups. im sure they want to mirror as much as possible the launch of the Mavic Air, where they had plenty in stock to keep all the demand met.

I think we know it will fly 45 miles per hour and go 5 miles in distance. We know it will encompass the same form factor as the original Mavic Pro. We know it has omnidirectional obstacle avoidance, we know the names, we know what it looks like, I think we know more than enough than we did when we first heard about the See The Bigger Picture Event.

I stand corrected...both Mavic Air and Mavic 2 are in a class alone. My sarcasm was in response to all the endless speculation
