Hi Guys...I have two early version Inspire 1's and they fly great so I was thinking about upgrading to a better camera (both have the X3 now).  What camera would you guys recommend for reliability and quality performance.  I understand I would need a larger vibration plate and landing gear extensions.  And secondly how would I handle the camera firmware updating?   Here's is a list of the firmware updates I have loaded now:

In my business I take photos and videos for small and medium size businesses as requested but I have been asked about mapping so that's a consideration.  Can't get an Inspire 2 right now so I am even considering different cameras on each bird.   Thanks  

you only have 3 options ( z3, x5 & x5r). the z3 is the same camera basically as your x3 with a digital zoom feature. the x5 & x5r will require the vibration plate on your v1. when you consider the cost of the x5 and the reduction in flight time vs the ability to change lenses (that need to be balanced) & the improved (albeit , small) picture quality for still images, imo it's a waist of money. the only true upgrade to the camera system on the i1 is the x5r, but with a cost over $2000usd new, you could almost buy an inspire 2.

The P4Pro with the 20mpxl camera and all the settings that can be changed to your needs for Real Estate as well as Mapping.....that's a $1500 bill + extras.....but it's the whole enchilada!!

Flight time on the Inspire will be 15 min tops with a heavier cam......the P4Pro is 28 min flight time......ish

That's a very real possibility that I hadn't thought of.  I could sell one of the Inspires and still upgrade my  (fleet).  Thanks Randy
