Hey everyone,

I have an Osmo+ that everytime I try to do a motion timelapse I get the error:

"Gimbal Protected. Image Transmission is disabled now.

Click here to reactive the gimbal."

Has anyone else seen this problem?

Thanks,
Joe

Same here, my problem would be on the last segment of my filming (i.e. the last 2 min of a 20 min lapse), the gimbal just goes lock itself.

Thank you for the response. What happened when you press this?

Here is a series of pictures of what the osmo is doing.

#1 My set up

#2 error screen

#3 what it looks like when I press "click here to reactive gimbal"

#4 what it looks like after gimbal is reactivated

I hope this helps, I really like the OSMO and this was the one feature that sold me on the + over the standard model.

As always, thank you.
Joe

Did you try to reinstall the app? Did you try to calibrate the gimbal?

Hey Wanda

Sorry I'm on vacation until the 25th and don't have access to the Osmo. Before I left I tried getting it to work on 3 different phones (all had the same result)  and I recalibrated the gimbal twice - 1st time failed, 2nd time successful.

Thanks,
Joe

That's okay, sir. If that's the case, I highly suggest sending the unit into our repair facility to have a checkup.

I have the same problem on my OSMO +. I bought a camera in China.
I live in Russia. Where can I go for repair?

For anyone that finds this - I still have not found a solution.  After visiting the DJI store (they had no idea what was causing it) and running a firmware update that became available in February the camera still has this error when doing motion timelapses. All the other features work exactly as expected.

I ran into this issue recently -- it seems like it happens if the gimbal moves very slowly, but not slow enough, for at least 10 minutes. The issue doesn't show up if I take 5 minute timelapses, or if the yaw angle commanded is large enough.

I find that it's quite easy to reproduce this (for my Osmo+, at least) with a 10 minute timelapse, and a yaw movement from the red marking to the white marking on the gimbal locking ring. Align the lock symbol on the gimbal with the red and white markings when you mark point A and point B. I've only tried it with 1s and 2s intervals, but I don't think that makes a difference.

For what it's worth, my gimbal records long videos (>30min) fine, and moving the gimbal manually along its full range of motion (while it's off, of course) doesn't reveal any abnormalities.
