Where do you guys find music for you drone footage compilations?

And do you guys edit your footage precisely according to the beat/song?

Search for free music on YT. Tons of it there.
Often the only condition is that you do not earn money on the music, and that you mention the artist and the title of the number in your video description.

Yes, but that's a matter of taste and pleasure and is a completely different matter. If you ask me, videos from drone recordings should not be too long. Some think a video should not last longer than 1.5 minutes, but personally I think that 2-4 minutes is perfect and it fits well with the length of average music pieces.

You can use downloaded clips royalty free, so long as you credit him at the end (instructions are on his site. I strongly recommend his music.
He has numerous genres, and offers fixed length music as well as looping. I use the looping clips and repeat the segments if I need just a little more time.
A further recommendation: keep your videos to no longer than 2 min unless there's a good reason. On average, most people tune out after that long.

use -F <link to video>
then choose a format, it'll be a number. -f <number> <link to video> will download the video. You'll have to convert webm video for premiere though, the best audio is usually encoded in m4a in the list. It'll tell you the bitrate with -F. 22 even though it says best sometimes, is usually not the best audio to dl.

I usually use Bass Rebels or similar channel from youtube that advertises Copyright Free music. All they ask in return is you credit the song/artist/channel. A great mix of music but usually all electronic in some way. Do a search for "Copyright Free Piano" or "Copyright free orchestra" or whatever you're into.

I cut ALL my videos to the beat. It helps me move the story/feel faster. Sometimes without a beat to work within my clips get too long. I edit using Adobe Premiere and sometimes I shorten/lengthen the song by making cuts on the beat and copying the verse or chorus several times, or subtracting a verse. You can also change the speed of the song by running it at 90% or 110%. Changing the speed and pitch sometimes gives me the song/feeling I'm looking for.

Quik from GoPro can really do wonders and has an awesome repository of free music. It does get boring after you make abou 20 videos with it, but hey, it is free ;)
