Except that rumour was started by OsitaLV who is wrong about most things (he just makes stuff up and deleted it when proven wrong).
He made up another excuse shortly after that as well about production issues.

You can be quite sure DJI won't postpone an announcement because everything was ok.
We will probably never know what was wrong with (one of the) MP2's but my guess is there was an issue with one of them.

Oh yes, this Osita guy (or whatever gender it has) is not on my readers list.....

The "gimbal issue" originated with him. (and he removed it a few days later).
The problem is everyone is desperate for news so people pick it up quickly and spread it everywhere.  Before long its "true".
(and then 20 people will make "breaking news" video click bait things for youtube).

I did not have a Mavic ... I tried it ... 2 times ... but it's not like having one ...
however DJI never gave me problems
I have 2 Phantoms and one spark. I have been flying for more than 3 years
The only problem with P4P, was solved under warranty.
Now I wait ... I keep waiting ... a Mavic Air ... let's hope it arrives ....
and I can not wait to try it ... it will surely be fantastic ...
its portability will give me many opportunities to to fly  
Regarding this new model ... instead, I am very confident.

I heard the Mavic II Pro will cost 1199,- (euros) and the Zoom 1499,-, seems like a reasonable price for the two. Can anyone confirm this with a source?

Where did you hear this? I would rather expect it to be the other way round with the Mavic 2 Pro being more expensive than the Zoom, and both at a higher price level, at least for the fly more combo.

I suspect they've got those the wrong way around....

I think so too. To some "Zoom" might sound better, bigger and faster than "Pro" ;-)

here on the forum, like all of you, as a true DJI fan,
I can not wait to see this new jewel ...

dji has already changed me, giving me the chance, through these fantastic camera to play the game that I like ...

today, after many challenges
I'm trying to enter as a professional in this great world ...

dji gave me the chance to see this world from a different perspective ...


I'm sure that this new drone, camera will give us new functions and therefore new potential to be exploited ...

all this makes me euphoric and excited ...

I have to admit that only DJI gave me these possibilities ... skills ...

and so ,I must admit, I begins to see the world from another perspective, but it is not only that strictly photographic ...
but artistic, work and above all in terms of professional satisfaction

life will be not like a fairy tale
but I continue to dream...

many thanks for yours so kindly words ...
but didn't ... not yet ... I'm still waiting ... but at same time I'm working with my air fleet ...

Mavic , will give me more options and chance to bring easily with me him and so others ways to get special pictures and shooting ...

at the moment , I've got some jobs , I mean jobs with drone  done ... and I give my thanks to dji for this

and then , I put my fingers crossed to see this new jewel , becouse I feel pretty confident that this last one will give us another differet way and more opportunity to do what we would like do ...

but in any case ... thanks again for your comment here

I HOPE one of the surprises is that they announce it will have 'Cellular-based" control.  This could be the hidden meaning behind "seeing beyond the horizon' that the new video includes.  With cellular, you could push waypoint commands to the drone in areas where you would lose radio signal. Also would be peace of mind for all the nasty Aircraft Disconnects (RC) that seem to be the new normal with Mavics these days.

I do not know the laws, if these allow this type of flight ...
at the moment, where I flew I was not allowed ...
but progress, the future have no limits ... so ...

Its already had identification as an option in go4 so why would anything change there?

DJI has already developed this tech and demo'd it to law enforcement.  DJI drones can be configured to emit their unique ID via radio; the transceiver they developed reads the ID of all DJI UAV's in a certain mile radius.  I imagine that like the callsign that other aircraft use and transponders that emit their AC details, that soon this will be the reality for all UAVs in the airspace.

Oh for sure it will happen- it exits already in other UAVs.  But you are correct about whether flight beyond VLOS (BVLOS) will be allowed for recreational flights.  Currently it is allowed in some jurisdictions; mostly require commercial license with specific permissions.  Initially I think it would be a great safeguard as backup/redundancy to radio interference issues. Currently cellular would have too much lag to carry say a real-time video feed.  5G would be required for sure, and it's a given that cell tech will grow to accommodate this.

FYI- I've been to Italy many times - love it and have never flown a drone there yet.  I would think Italy would be one of the best places for flying as you have some of THE most picturesque settings on earth

Was just going to post that.  *IF* its true the Pro is a huge step up from the zoom.

20mpixel v 12 but more importantly 10 bit rather than 8 bit sensor.
It also appears to have a variable aperture which i really wasn't expecting.  This puts it above a P4Pro in every respect so they must surely have a P5 in the bag to release too.

The only thing i can't see is whether it still uses a horrible compressed version of h264 or whether it'll go to H265/HEVC as an option like GoPro did.

Looking at those specs i can't see any way the Pro wont cost hundreds of dollars more than the zoom.   The zoom itself looks like a very modest upgrade from the Pro v1.  The 100mbit data rate of the Air, Occusync2 for a better quality feed and a zoom.  But base specs remain the same.

Mavic pro was 4-5 months initially.

No 4K 60.  

I can live with that if the 40k/30 has a decent compression implementation.

2.7k 60fps won't be 100Mbps though.

This is going to depend what codec they choose as well.

If they've emulated what GoPro and others have done and gone to HEVC then you wont NEED 100mbps for quality.   If they've stuck with the 264 and horrible algorithm of the current drones then yeah its going to such.
