One scene and two perspectives can change how we look at something and help to reveal a previously unseen beauty. For example, a soccer field seems like a lot of grass, some white lines, and two goals from the ground, but from the air, we can see a beautiful symmetrical design painted on an emerald canvas.

Now we would like to offer you guys the chance to win a prize by sharing your ground and aerial shots of the same scene.

Very hard to tell what kind of field it is from the sky, but from the ground it's simply beautiful. Enjoy!

These structures near Minneapolis, MN were built during WWII to protect gunpowder production houses. The thick cement walls ensured that if one of the gunpowder production houses exploded then all the nearby houses would be protected. These structures are HUGE and fill an entire field right off the highway.

Hiking

Well I took it maybe 2 month ago, when I get my first drone, the tiny tello. It is at Bukit Pelindung, a great place for hiking and jungle traking. There are more than 5 telecommunication towers on the hill top and you will get a nice view of the Kunatan city.
Not expecting to win, just want to take part in it

Great job, you’ve got us all thinking again.

I'm very excited for participating! One thing I love is waterfalls, so here is a simple shot from ground taken with a Pixel 2, with no editing at all. One thing I really like about this photo, is the sky color, which looked exactly like that in real life.

And now, the aerial photo. I had a bit of luck to capture a little rainbow that only showed itself for about 2 minutes. Same as before, it has no editing, I like natural pictures. This was taken with the Spark.


The main reason why I bought a drone was to be able to see things from a different angle, and this contest is the best way to see a lot of great photos that showed that encourage that. So I'm really eager to see all the other photos from contestants. Hope you guys like the pictures, and good luck to all!

What an awesome contest Grace! Title: "You never know what's around the corner".
This is the perfect quote for this awesome road in the Heart of Transylvania-Romania. It's quite unbelievable from the ground how mind-blowing the curves go seen through the camera of my Mavic Air.

Do both of the pictures have to be captures with DJI equipment? Or is one of them enough?

I think no, cause they just want to show the different from ground (camera/phone) and from the sky (drone)

Well done, the tiny Tello is very impressive

Nice contest, don't have something fancy... so i'll use this beach/coastal montage.

Quite excited about this one. I'll see what I can do.

Glacial Beauty.  

This is Portage Glacier in Alaska.  The view you see is only accessable via a boat or hiking a pass.  We hiked in that day for these views.  If you look closely in the top picture, you will see the tour boat.  Both were taken with my Mavic Pro Platinum.

Butte, Montana is a powerful example of how far humans will go to take resources from the Earth.  Between 1880 and 2005, the mines of Butte produced more than 9.6 million metric tons of copper, 2.1 million metric tons of zinc, 1.6 million metric tons of manganese, 381,000 metric tons of lead, 87,000 metric tons of molybdenum, 715 million troy ounces (22,200 metric tons) of silver, and 2.9 million ounces (90 metric tons) of gold according to Wikipedia.

The first photo is of a hillside and the second is of the entire Continental Pit.  Both were taken on April 9, 2018 using a DJI Phantom 4 Advanced piloted by David Daly.

These two shots were taken in January after a freezing night I spent in my car just to have the opportunity to see one of the epic sunrises in Glencoe. If you take this road, you are amazed by the landscape around you. And from the sky it looked like from Star Wars
