Hi All,

I've off to China & Japn in 2 weeks, I'm so in 2 minds whether its worth taking my Mavic Pro Platinum.
I've read soooo many threads. A lot of people saying its fine, a lot saying the drone will be confiscated at customs and all sorts of problems.
Trip is beijing, shanghai and finishing in Hong Kong.  Then, Japan - tokyo, osaka, hiroshima.
Its not for business, just backpacking hobbyist and i don't want to lose this somewhat expensive bit of kit.  So i'm really torn as to taking it or not. Plus the hassle of dragging it around for 5 weeks.
Anyone been here recently please and offer some solid advice?

China need local registration to fly legally. You also need to enter a China phone number in your DJI account. Otherwise you will be locked in beginner mode.

Read the local drone law before you fly. Check the place allow you fly or not before takeoff. Not all NFZ marked on the Apps. The local people may not like drone fly around their place.
