after looking for hours i found the back blade it had 2 of the 3 prongs broken off.. it was on the back and pre installed at the factory so i never thought of checking them... i found the blade in the tree that i was flying in front of i had to get my friends boom truck to get it out so it didnt fall on the ground and break..  I'm so upset i bought this for myself as a birthday gift,  it took me 9 months of saving to get it... I'm hoping dji will watch the vid i emailed and the pictures and flight log to see i want abusing it... it was my first flight with a smart drone....  can't find the vid yet,  once i do il attach it,  thanks everyone fly safe!  check your blades!

Looks like someone installed them wrong to me. Does the OP have some video showing it flying with that prop on?

That blade is in bad shape. Looks like one that's been through a crash. Would be interested in seeing the flight log when the blade came off.

Uh, yeah. This happens when they come into contact with solid surfaces. Like tree limbs.

They look completely "torqued" off....  Like having hit an immovable object.  Is there any way you can post your video and flight log here?  Let's hope part of the 1200 included DJI Refresh/Care....
Was there additonal damage to the aircraft?
Were you able to swap out blades and fly again?

Hmmm, this smells fishy.

Are you sure the prop came off, resulting in abrupt landing in tree?  Or was it abrupt landing in tree that sheared the prop off?

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience on your first flight!  Hopefully you can get it sorted and get many more safe and fun flights ahead.  

For video, the best way is to upload to YouTube (or similar), then copy the URL to the resulting video and paste in a response here.

For the flight log, you can go to the following site and it will give you instructions on how to upload your flight log.  Once you've done that, copy the resulting URL and paste in a response here as well.

I went to a local drone repair shop today and they said it would be about 4-450$ to repair.....

Ignore the grumpy people today because they are usually pretty fair  but $450  for one motor  and leg so $1800 if you needed all 4 ?  Rip off city.  Sorry this happened to you and  I hope DJI replaces it for you,  for future reference  you can find Genuine DJI  parts on Ebay.

That definatly shut people up yes lol.
Looks like  a user error to me by not going through a pre flight checkist and checking that all props are secured in place properly before flight but you may have a case to put forward to dji. if youve already had it repaired by a third party repairer then im not sure if your covered under warranty.
Did you actually read the manual before flying?
Did you do a preflight check list? Im guessing not one of the first things you check is to make sure the props are installed properly.
Im not trying to have a go at you but this is a common rooky mistake that many have made.
Once you get the drone back i recommend reading the manual thoroughly not the one that comes with the drone thats just a quik start guide you will need to download it from the net.
Once youve read it thoroughly then make yourself a pre flight check list of things to do and check before flight. This should obviously include ..check to see if battery and props are secured in place and locked in.
I hope you get it repaired soon and get back up in the air, you have an awesome drone and when flown correctly should give you many many hours of fun.

Watched video, and it does look like a sudden failure, with complete loss of control, resulting in crash.  Prop coming off would cause such a sudden failure and loss of control.

they all were locked in the up position,  that's what im saying the blade have had to fail at the locking points I never took the back ones off but i did inspect them to make sure they where turned and pulled up in the locked position it was the back left blade that broke, they had been installed on the drone from thee factory.. that's how they come back ones installed and ther front ones needed to be installed,  I guess I should have taken it apart first to make sure it was put together correctly from dji... if that was the case I would have built my own from scratch...

yes I read everything watched videos for a month while I decided what one I was going to buy,  I have had 6-7 other hobby grade drones just never this expensive of one,  mostly blades and a walkera...  I know for a fact the prongs broke off mid flight,  the blade shows that Its just going to be hard to prove,    christ I feel like I'm in court.. guilty till proven innocent  ffs....
