I agree,  it doesn't have that Wow factor and it basically looks like a Mavic Pro 1 with a different Gimbal .

I would think the Pro would cost more since it has the hasselblad camera.

So with the fly more pack, I'm guessing upwards of $2K?

If there isn't more to MP2 than what we have heard, it will have that Yeah factor.

I think keeping the original Mavic Pro form factor is wise by DJI given how successful it has been. When you think about it, the reality of significantly outperforming the current Mavic Pro is probably not realistic. I mean, what we're going to see is 20% enhancements from the original, but again when you take into account how good the Mavic Pro is, a radical transformation for all intensive purposes would be a contradiction, not an improvement.

I think any one of us could have just as easily provided an estimated price.

Many people on this forum have done just that  for the last month or so.

If the sensor + lens are indeed much better than with the MP I would say it has the 'wow' factor for me.
At least one of the two shortcomings of the MP would be gone (in my opinion).
- Camera (lens + sensor)
- Gimbal.
So I am curious how real users like it.

As long as the camera and gimbal are significantly better I would be happy.  I love everything else about the Mavic Pro.   I also like the evolutionary look they are going with.  The MP is still my favorite design.

How disappointing. I am already flying at 45-46 mph. I don't really need a better camera. I'm happy with both my Mavic Pros for now.

I agree with you, I'm finding myself completely happy with the Mavic Pro camera, I have the settings just where I like it.

Lucky you.  You can save $1500 by not buying something you dont need!

For a lot of us the worst and most disappointing feature of the MP was
(i) a very poor quality camera and
(ii) a badly designed, fragile gimbal

So if the MP2 addresses those issues a lot will upgrade.

I agree on both points. The camera on MP1 is way too weak, producing a soft, at times misalgned image.

I'd also add another point of improvement that everyone seems to overlook - omnidirectional obstacle avoidance. With that, the number of sideways and backwards flying (near)collisions should be significantly reduced. And prossibly, the pesky branches above you won't be so much of a problem, when RTH kicks in in a forest, and you forgot to set it to hover ;)

Not a grammar Nazi, just a teacher.  "For all intensive purposes" does not mean anything.  What the hell is an "intensive purpose"?   While "for all intents and purposes" means in every practical sense.  I'd rather have someone correct my mistakes rather than continue to use an eggcorn that has no meaning, but that's just me.  Some people would rather know, while some would rather remain ignorant and not be corrected.  This wasn't even directed at you.  I guess I know which category you fall into.

On the original topic, I think $1,299 seems reasonable for a camera with a 1" sensor.

£1200 on a UK website so $1550.

Usually they rip us off in the UK by just going £ = $ so i'd guess $1200 or so is well within the expected range.

$1,299 for the Fly More Combo or just the drone and battery?

I think they're coming out with 3 different versions. The Mavic 2 Zoom, the Mavic 2 Pro, and Mavic Enterprise - which will be the premiere DJI drone.

While I hope it will be the Fly More Combo package, I was referring to the Mavic Pro 2 itself with a battery.  I think that the 1" sensor will be a significant improvement, image wise, over the original Mavic Pro.  I am guessing that they will pass these costs along to us.  The Phantom 4 ver. 2.0 retails for around $1,500.  The $1,299 price would put the Mavic Pro 2 with the 1" sensor between the Phantom and the original Mavic Pro.

Personally, I think the Phantom 4 ver. 2.0 is too expensive. I agree with you that it sets that level of a $1,500 price point that now affects the new Mavic Pro pricing. I do not think the current Mavic Pro will continue to sell for $999, in fact many believe the current version will be discontinued (I hope that is not the case). Invariably, I think we'll just see the upcoming Pro sell for whatever price but as happened to the Spark, the price will precipitously fall to the $999 level we see on the current Mavic Pro.

If you don't like it...too bad.  I'm well within forum rules.  I was polite and it was obvious to me that person spoke English properly.  The OP didn't complain about it.  I prefer it when people correct my mistakes so I don't keep repeating the same mistake.  David didn't seem to take offense to it.  If he would've complained I would've apologized.
