Okay guess I am going to hit the books, Any advice on taking the test? I am not looking for someone to hold my hand just some pointers in areas to focus on.
I used this YouTube video to study, and ultimately, pass the part 107
There are free FAA part 107 practice exams you can find online, mine were from 3DR. Between the practice exams and watching the above video over and over, I got an 80% after taking the exam the first time
Take a magnifying glass with you. The book of sectional charts has tiny print. I used one of the full page ones, worked great. I've heard some places provide one, I wouldn't risk it unless you asked them beforehand.
All great feedback. The video really puts it all in perspective... Reading the sectionals makes perfect sense to me. I've watched it once and already on a second pass of it. I'm hoping the first week of September to take the test.
Don't forget, the Legend on the sectionals is your FRIEND!!!
Good advice but just to add know how to read longitude and latitude. How to find a spot on a map just by knowing the longitude and latitude of the spot on the sectional chart.
I studied for the exam for 3 weeks off and on with pretty much nothing but the info you have so far. The FAA site is the most important since it is their exam. Once you pass it, it drops after 2 years to 40 questions but still on the harder stuff. The exam pretty much stays with you once you learn it all once hehe Good luck! Ask more questions when you need them answered.
I just passed yesterday and will echo many of the comments here. Make sure you know the sectionals and latitude and longitude. I found the 3dr practice test very helpful in prep.
