[size=14.6667px]I am interested in the Matrice 210 airframe. I understand it's design and strengths as an industrial platform leading me to favor it over the Inspire 2 as a mapping platform. However, I would also like to use it to capture creative photo / video footage mainly along ocean coastlines, which is where the IP rating becomes very appealing.
[size=14.6667px]

[size=14.6667px]I'd like to ask the user community for feedback on the possibility of using the 210 for aerial video & photography using say an X5S camera, knowing that it can not process 5K video - which is not a requirement.
[size=14.6667px]

[size=14.6667px]Can anybody comment on or have experience with the rotors or landing gear show up on camera?
[size=14.6667px]In terms of maneuverability while shooting, does the Inspire 2 have advantages over the 210?
[size=14.6667px]

[size=14.6667px]Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Firstly, I'm not sure if M210 will provide significant advantages for mapping in comparison to basic M200 version. Perhaps sophisticated RTK system may deliver more precisely geolocated imagery, I just don't know.

Said that, as a owner of M200/X5S I can't stress strongly enough how stable and robust this platform is for aerial photography and video. Yawing is solid and smooth, rock solid hovering, never had any issue with landing gear in the frame shot with 12mm lens, not to mention 25mm. In some places I've made 5 km range flights with TB50 batts and 20% power left at home. I don't use TB55 batts, which with single camera setup causes aircraft a bit back-heavy. Wonderfull aircraft, joy to fly ...

Anyway, just returned from a scenic tour along Pacific Coast by famous Hwy 101, from WA thru OR down to CA. ... Visually spectacular shoreline landscapes, but notorious 50-75 km/hr winds practically prohibited drone flights there. A paradise for windsurfers, but even mighty, like-a-rhino powerful M200 wouldn't stand a chance ...

Completely agree with Matthew...I have over 60 flights with the M200 as pictured, and have flown under all kinds of conditions: perfect weather, relatively strong winds, light rain, and light snow...Currently flying both TB50 and TB55 battery pairs, and all OK...The M200 is very stable to the point that the fixed FLIR Boson often seems like it's on a gimbal too (It's not)...In terms of seeing props or legs, cannot see them if looking straight-away through the full range of vertical rotation...Of course, horizontal + vertical rotation of the gimbal will allow you to see aircraft components.

Apologies for the redundant replies. The forum web application screwed up and did not respond to my posting. When I realized what had happened I attempted to delete the duplicated replies but was unable to do so. Yikes....

The M210RTK is for to overcome the EMI and RTK positioning of the Aircraft. Not geotagged RTK for photo/video.

Does anybody have any info regarding the photo and video capabilities of the M200/210 using the X5S camera?

I'm wondering if it's able to capture RAW photos and what the max resolution/bitrate/frame rate is for recording video to the MicroSD card.

There's not really any info out there for this combo from the searches I did. I realize that the Inspire 2 too is better suited to imaging, but I'm considering if this would be good enough for occasional video/photography in addition to it's industrial uses.

you can not record CinemaDNG or ProRes on the 200 series

If you're OK with 4K video in H.264/265 compression format, than there's nothing to complain about. But no, Matrice 200 series do not allow for un-compressed video recording like in Inspire 2 case. Still photography remains identical.

so it's able to capture DNG photos, like their other consumer models? and is the video 100mbps H.264/H.265 at 4096x2160 or 3840x2160 and at what frame rates?

I wasn't able to find any hard info on the recording specs, so much appreciated if you can check for me (and anybody else searching out there). The DJI enterprise dealer I talked to hasn't been able to tell me either.

See page 17 of the x5s user manual. It describes its technical parameters for video. X5s works in the M-series uav like a charm.
100 Mbps bitrate on the local (uav mounted) sd card.
