I didn’t see mentioning if Crystal Sky monitors work with Mavic 2.  Do they?

They do not currently.

"DJI Goggles RE can only connect to the Mavic 2 with firmware 01.00.0600 or above via DJI Assistant 2 on a computer. Firmware 01.00.0600 will be launched at the end of August, 2018. Please stay tuned."

* Anyone see firmware 01.00.0600 release yet on assistant 2? I can't look without the RE google plugged in.

Update: The firmware v01.00.0600 has been released, please kindly check this link: https://forum.dji.com/thread-163227-1-1.html

Susan:  So the drone will stitch JPGs.  If I want to stitch the DNG versions...I can because both JPGs and DNGs are recorded the Mavic 2 Zoom?  Thanks!

Yes, it is. Should there is any further question, feel free to contact us.

Well can say this the new DJI GO4 .24 update did fix the video lag and pixelation problem for me using samsung s7 however there are still  bugs which point to FW one the MA still drifts and doesn't like to fly in a straight line sometimes  also the drone seems to tilt  while hovering on the left side like the motors aren't  producing enough lift.

Hey forager3215, may I have some samples of the issues you mentioned in Mavic Air?

Thanks for the update Susan.

Is it okay to run the DJI RE goggles without the  extra antenna used for analog operation? I plan on using this with Mavic 2 Pro

Sure glad they don't sell motorcycles, cars, and trucks with Pre-production FW.

Sometimes they do. My wife's SUV has had 3 FW updates this year, one for the transmission, on for the radio/hands-free phone interface and one main computer.

Sure there are FW updates to products after they are sold.

But what was being talked about was "Pre-production" FW.  Firmware that was written before the device ever went into production.  As in Beta software.

What about the stitching of images to get the 40+ megapixels. Is it done with RAW photos?  Or JPGs?

Most likely JPGs not sure tho

Here are a few examples in video had to keep trying to nudge the drone to the right to offset the drift to left.

Sir, there will be JPEG only for Super Resolution and HDR. Regarding the panorama, the stitched pictures will be saved as JPEG, you may choose to save the original photos as RAW or JPEG.

Thanks for the updates Susan.  And the significant update in the Original Post.
According to DHL, my Pro 2 is already on its way from SHENZHEN - CHINA....
I wonder if anyone has actually got theirs yet?
Cheers

THIS IS SO OBNOXIOUS!
i have the mavic 2 plugged in, but assistant just keeps searching for firmware in the list.  never finds anything.
the app won't download the firmware.  it just tells me i don't have a network connection, but i do.
::edit::
well after more than a dozen reboots of both the mavic and the controller, it finally found the update.  updating now.

The external antenna included with the RE Goggles is only required for connecting to analog transmitters.  You don't to use it when connecting via OccuSync.   The digital reception antennas are built-in to the goggles.

Hi DB

The reason I was asking is, most of these transmitters / receivers need the loading of the antenna to prevent the output transistors can burn out or overheat.

Sounds lie this is not a problem.

Thanks
Rich

Hi Rich, it is ok to run the DJI Goggles without the extra antenna used for analog operation, no worries.

Great, I just didn't want to damage the circuit if it was required.

Thank you!

not usually on the receiving side.  transmitters need a load, or it will burn up eventually.  although a lot of times, even the short pigtail to get it from the transmitter to the antenna gives enough resistance to delay burning up electronics for a couple minutes.  receivers often even require you to leave antennas off during calibration procedures.

Sure they do; Tesla updates over the air all the time, and their self driving in still coming. Otherwise most other cars have old software, usually even several years old, in the name of stability.

Personally I don't mind DJI getting a product out that fullfils my requirements, and is able to be upgraded over time. Only issue is due to the short upgrade cycle of drones, some upgrade are unlikely to come to current models; otherwise no one will upgrade.

No they don't.  Pre-production FW
Pre-production FW is equivalent of Beta Software or possibly even Alpha Software.  DOT would be all over car company selling a car to public with Pre-production FW for say Anti-Lock Brakes which might fail to apply proper braking vs. traction or lock-up entirely because driver had their turn signal on.

Went smoothly for me as well.

That’s good , the only thing that was giving me trouble was the activation, for some reason it kept saying that it couldn’t reach the server connected to my house WiFi , but as soon s I did it using LTE it went thru just fine , I had this issue with other dji drones in the past , so knew what to do.

I´m wondering if they will simply put MP2 aside when they start to produce MP3 as they did with Mavic Air... All attention now but what about 6 months from now?

Hi there, the Crystal Sky and Mavic 2 are not compatible for now, our engineers are working on this and release as soon as it is ready. Thanks for your support and patience.

Nice to hear that this is possible.

Is there a mounting support available for  the crystalsky 7.85 " Ultra  to attach it on the transmitter?

Hi Susan
I have a 5.5" Crysytal Sky monitor that I use with the official DJI mount on my Mavic Pro RC.
I also have a Mavic Air that the DJI Crysytal Sky mount WILL NOT fit the RC.
Can you please advise if the DJI Crystal Sky mount will fit the Mavic 2 Pro RC or does it have the same design problem that the Mavic Air RC has?
Also I have an original pair of DJI Goggles that only run on 2.4GH. Am I correct in assuming that when the next firmware update comes out for the Goggles that they will work with the Mavic 2 PRO.
Thanks

Thank's Susan! We have lower resolution on the newer Mavic in comparison to the older - a step down and backwards.
