It took 3 or 4 days for CS to work when Mavic Air was released.
I imagine the same will play out here.

Cannot update the firmware.
I have tried to update the drone firmware via iPhone X and iPad Pro through the DJI Go 4 App as well as via a MacBook Pro and a Windows X Laptop through the DJI Assistant 2 for Mavic.
Sometimes the updating progress gets to 99% but most of the times it fails way before that.
A few times in the download progress, other times while transfering or at the updating screen.
I am very frustrated! I am trying for 2 days now.
I know my way around computers and I followed every step from your videos for the Assistant App as well as the Go App.
I was able to update the controller through the Assistant App, but the drone simply does not want upgrade.

Here is one more example and this time with the error code 0x020409.
I do not get this code every time. As you can see in the pictures in my previous post most of the time I do not get any error code but simply the message that it failed.


Since I did not make a screenshot once it got to 99% but when I thought it has been quite some time at 99% it stays for even more than 30 minutes at the 99% marker.

Any suggestions?

The 3rd last point, " -Optimized the performance of the Vision Systems", is a bit vague. Does anyone know if the Vision System now works with more intelegent flight modes such as Quickshot?

Same issue here - I can't update the firmware of my new Mavic Pro 2 and have tried EVERYTHING to no avail. The update starts downloading via the DJI GO 4 app on my iPhone or the DJI Assistant software on the Mac. After around 20% it stops and says "Continue Downloading" in the app. In DJI Assistant it simply says "Update failed" after 24% and wants me to upload the error log. If I press on "Continue Downloading" in the app, it starts from zero but stops at 20% again giving me the same "Continue Downloading" button. If I press "Retry" in the assistant, it starts from zero too and fails again at around 24%.

The controller is not recognised at all if I connect it to my Mac and I can therefore not update it (updating it via the app fails as well). I've tried a USB-C cable and a USB-C to USB cable but the controller only starts charging but won't be recognised by the DJI Assistant, Only the drone shows up but - like mentioned above - can also not be updated.

This has been the most frustrating user experience ever and I've already wasted countless hours but can still not fly the drone... Any advice would be greatly appreciated, otherwise I think I will return this €2k paperweight shortly.

I did some digging in the log fies - apparently, the md5 hash of the firmware is wrong on DJI's server!?

Well the firmware update finally worked. The only thing I did differently this time, is that i did not watch the progress bar the whole time, but went in another room and watched a show.
Sadly tough the camera unit seems to be broken. It flickers badly and when you take a picture the camera unit crashes. The only thing I could do is go to settings. But everything else is frozen.
Made a screen grab and loaded it up to YouTube since the file size was way too big for an attachment:

Thanks for the clarification. Generally, the new firmware update will introduce some new features and fix previous issues, our engineers are keeping optimize the experience. Any feedback about the new firmware will be appreciated.

Sorry about this. Please try to reset the gimbal settings or adjust manually to see whether it works better.

I wasn't able to paste the text here, your forum module prevented me from doing so.

I'm therefore sending you the log file via PM.

As you can see, there is an md5 hash error at the end where the download stops, the hash values don't match in your firmware. This looks like an issue in the firmware file on your server?

-> Firmware md5 not matched. downlad file md5: 858b24c1f038e25960875b9677a3baa1, sig md5: 1ccc428185547f58a69557907868c531

Hope this can be resolved shortly, looking forward to hearing from you!

Just FYI in case others want to spare themselves a few headaches - turns out I was right from the start with Mavic 2 firmware files being corrupted on some of the servers of the CDN DJI uses to serve them to users. I can only speak of the US server I received the files from, of course, but it might be worth checking your whole CDN for similar problems, Susan. Part of the firmware files have a wrong md5 hash and therefore seem to be corrupted which leads the update to fail for many users (just check other forums, the problem is pretty much widespread). If the files come from a server that isn't affected, the firmware update goes through just fine.

So anyone else not being able to update, get yourself behind a VPN and change server locations until the app on your phone or DJI Assistant downloads the files from a server that has uncorrupted firmware files (or maybe some servers won't bother with checking the md5 values, which would be a bit worrying, of course).

I had the same problem. I tried like 50 or more times. Finally it's now updating the firmware.

I have exactly the same issue in the uk. Have tried using the lates djit go 4 app on 2 different iPhones. Just gets to 20% and then stops. If you click “continue download” it just endlessly repeats this sequence.

Also tried the dji asst 2, on 2 laptops and a pc. It consistently fails at 24%. Have tried enough times to burn about 5 hours now!

same issues for me on android and windows. after 7 hours trying last night an 2 hours this morning its wearing a bit thin

Hi i have 3 questions about mavic zoom with last firmware and last djo go 4 app:

1) i don't see any settings for autostorage days battery
2) i don't have any color profile (only normal) in photografy mode
3) i only have normal and cinematic-d color mode in video mode

Does this help?  Am struggling to upload the chinese upgrade log file, but I did send a couple of logs from the aborted firmware upgrades using the online support tool.

Does this help?  Am struggling to upload the chinese upgrade log file, but I did send a couple of logs from the aborted firmware upgrades using the online support tool.

hope this also helps my controllers on the latest firmware and the drone wont update. I wanna fly the bloody thing!

Susan, apologies for the text dump, I did mean to PM it to you.

Your support have sent me the standard 're-install, try another machine, another network etc'.  I tried a clean install of DJI Go 4, having deleted all the cached files, it still failed at 24%.  But then, just for kicks, I turned off the wifi on my iphone, and connected it to the 3g data service.   It's the only other network I have access to.  Low and behold, it worked fine! No issues whatsoever???  I had de-activtated the firewall in my PC when I was running the Asst v2, but am guessing my router was blocking something and the app wasn't reporting the actual problem.  All good now though. Thanks.

Worth a try for anyone else maybe.

So I've been trying to update the firmware on the pro 2 for around 6 hours now! I've not even flown it yet, I've took it out of the box/charged the batteries and gone to update the FW, completely fails on my android phone. Tried on the laptop with the latest assistant 2, get to 24% and fails! Tried on the iPad mini, gets to 20% and fails. I'm extremely annoyed at this and seriously thinking about returning it for a refund. I really don't know what else to do! Any advice would be appreciated

Is IPad Air 2013 or Samsung S8 2017 works with DJI GO 4?  Thinking to buy MAVIC 2 PRO.

I'm using a Samsung Note 4 with DJI Go 4 for my M2P. Seems to work OK.

I really tried everything...tried 3 android phones, 2 laptops and an iPad, vpn,non have worked and support from DJI is non existent u pay £1500 for a dud drone that can't be flown and get zero service from them

I've not been unable to update my firmware since I got the Mavic 2.  If I try on the phone, it gives me a network disconnected message.  If I try via DJI Assistant, it just stays as the USB screen, and never progresses to let me update.  I sent a message on FB on Monday and haven't gotten a response there, so I'm trying here.

There is a newer version of the DJI Assistant for the Mavic 2 make sure you're using that one. I got my Mavic 2 yesterday and had an issue updating from my Android Device (Galaxy S7) so I installed the DJI Assistant v2 and was able to update the Mavic 2 Zoom and the controller.

Finally sorted mine, I had to use a VPN and connect to an American server in order for the update to work!

That's the one I was using - DJI Assistant 2 for Mavic...version 2.0.0.     Today, I uninstalled the program and downloaded the zip file instead of the exe and installed it that way, and it had no issue updating.  Not sure why the zip worked and the exe didn't, but whatever.

same issues for me on android and windows. after 7 hours trying last night an 2 hours this morning its wearing a bit thin

Does this help?  Am struggling to upload the chinese upgrade log file, but I did send a couple of logs from the aborted firmware upgrades using the online support tool.

Copy that. Anyway, glad to hear it works finally. I have forwarded all info to our engineers for further analysis. Thanks so much for your time and support.
