This would have been Mavic Air #3 killed by a watery death.
Scenario: was driving by and saw the tall ship out on the lake, so of course I wanted to get a closer look. Flew the Air out for a closer look and thought I would try a QuickShot circle around it. As best I can tell, the ship was moving too fast for the Air to keep up in this mode. As such, when it came across the front if it and was still trying to track it, it got turned on its side and became unstable... like if you turned a helicopter on its side too far (or, this is my best guess). Mashed that sweet RTH button and it recovered its composure and made a safe trip back to the shore.
Oh gosh, what a close call! I am very happy for you and excellent reaction indeed. Heartfelt congratulations!
P.S. I shall never forget your submarine footage...
I am confused how this even happens. I have not had any of my DJIs get that sideways... so how did it just randomly get that vertical? and then not recover.
