Question: Does M2P support Active Track "descend" mode? This is a feature that I'm waiting for as a snowboarder and mountain biker.

Hi Sparkylicious, it is available for M2P to active track in a "descend" mode. The minimum altitude is 2 meters.

Are you saying the most it would descend is 2 meters? If someone is descending a Alaskan mountain ski line that is more like 300-400 meters.

We all want to see that. But I don’t think it’ll do it. It doesn’t like to come down unless it is going under a tree branch or something. It had issues following me down a hill with trees at a slow walking pace.

You’re wanting a terrain follow Activetrack; whereas it reads the terrain AND tracks you like a futuristic Hollywood movie robot.

Now, you ‘could’ just keep pulling down on the altitude stick, but it doesn’t do this so smoothly. And you’re talking about hauling butt down a mountain... I’d love to see the YouTube video of these attempts, at least!

Hi lanceK, the Mavic 2 does not support terrain follow for now. During the ActiveTrack, the relative distance between the aircraft and the ground should be more than 2m in a gentle slope, it will be ok.

Actually, it does not really work. Drone stays at the starting altitude and loses the object relatively quickly. Manually you can not influence the height. Hopefully  makes Dji with the update an improvement (GPS track, hold altitude ..). I have some Video in my Dropbox...
