We signed our 2 oldest up for surf lessons with Rip Curl School of Surf Indonesia while on a trip to Bali this summer.  It gave me a great opportunity to practice action shots with my Mavic Pro.  It was really windy but a truly enjoyable day at the beach.

Thanks Atlas, I'm not running a filter, yet.... the colors were edited in post using iMovie.

Well that is amazing. Do you think iMovie is changing much or is the footage pretty much "out of the camera"....

I haven't messed with any of the settings on the camera so some of the footage comes out a little 'grey'.  I usually slide the saturation bar to the right a little in iMovie just to make some of the colors pop.  Other than that, everything is 'out of the camera'.

I see. Did you use a filter ?

Funny, I took some video the other day using my Mavic Air and also A Mavic Pro (friends). There was a distinct difference, meaning the footage form the air looked 3rd rate compared to the pro... They both had NDI 8 filters, but at the time was not sure how to check the Pro's settings....

I have changed my Air's to the same as the Pro and see if it makes any difference.

One thing I did notice on the Pro is there are different colour settings available in both video and still. My Air only had 'cinematic' to choose from in video.


Hopefully it was just the settings.. I was so close to buying the Pro !!

I can imagine what cool shots you did. I would look at this. I've never tried to surf with a GoPro on my head, but I think it's a great idea, and I'll implement it on my next trip to Bali. I think that I will most likely go to Bali for a surf retreat on this site -- swellbali.com because the last time my friend flew to that place and he really liked it. So I think why don't I try to surf there since there is good staff and a great beach, that's all I need. Well, of course, I also wanted healthy food, but it's not so important anymore, I think. And yes, a cool photo!

Wow, it WAS windy. But what a great experience for the youngsters. Great work with the drone
