I posted two days ago regarding an official LUT from DJI, so far they have said they are working on it....

So, I created one.... check out the test grade done with it!



Excerpt from the video description:

"Until DJI releases their official Dlog-M LUT, there is no way to perfectly correct their LOG profile. Users of Premiere Pro and Final Cut beware, simple dials and sliders are sub-optimal for correcting LOG.


This test grade was done in DaVinci Resolve 15 Studio via the creation of a custom LUT based off the DJI X7 Dlog profile.


It was then carefully tweaked to look as realistic and natural as possible, with a splash of Arri Alexa color response.


This should provide an excellent starting point for more complex and stylized grades."

Good Work - it would be nice if you share the Lut with others.

Yeah, could you share it, please? Maybe also make a quick video showing your precess of applying it? :-)

Feels like it's crushing the shadows a tiny bit, but otherwise this is the best grade of the DLog-M footage I've seen yet. I would also love it if you could share.

To speak specifically, the LUT was created, applied, and then tweaked which resulted in the darker blacks and high contrast.

Mauro's video looks fantastic, but I would shy away from any LUT that stylizes the image too much. His LUT is more of a finished look, whereas I am aiming for a neutral one to work off of.

I'm going to continue to tweak my LUT a bit before I upload. I specifically want to ensure the colors look as Arri-like as possible, without the condensed dynamic range, desaturated colors, and increased red channel that Mauro's LUT has.

The issue is only the engineers can produce a proper LUT as only they know the gamma table and so on.  Every 3rd party LUT is basically a "creative layer" as opposed to a starting point.  That's not to say they aren't good - it simply means they arent the perfect starting point for an unedited, raw footage.

(And obviously, even 3rd party ones really need to be made with a colour checker etc)

Absolutely agreed, which is why I was terribly concerned when they didn't launch with a LUT!

This LUT however should be fairly close, assuming it is similar to their latest X7 Dlog which uses a Cineon-like gamma curve.

Just got my Mavic 2 Pro, haven't been able to fly it yet.

Hopefully some Color Checker tweaking is in the future!

Not sure how similar it is given they made a big thing of Hasselblad being responsible for the colour profile.  I;d be interested to try it though!
It's worth noting we asked things like this when Mavic 1 was released, received the same responses and never got a LUT.

I haven't got a MP2 yet.  7 days on and its still in China.

Is there a download link for this LUT? Did I miss it?

I have been using ARRi alexa and slog2 luts with DlogM.  I like the normal mode as well!  With using LUTs then u have to nail really good settings and as i learned better a little bit overexposed than under...

Hi all, sorry for the absence. I was trying to wrestle with DLOG-M using a Colorchecker. Apparently D-Log doesn't follow a standard Cineon curve, or any standard color space...... I was waiting for their official LUT, which is now here! After checking back and forth, the official LUT does correctly "correct" the gamma and color space of DLOG-M.

@Totalitarian... how on earth did you find this?!? Works like a treat!
