I've flown my Phantom 4 about 100Km on solar power.  Unlike the 2nd video, I use an intermediate battery to collect the power so that when I want to charge the Phantom battery it doesn't matter if it is sunny, cloudy or night time.

probably get battery too hot doing that...  Multiple batteries switching from charging or in use would be better option..

I was looking at a few surface, solar powered models. They look kind of fun. This is a lawnmower... ;-)

Then the solar powered car looked like it would be pretty swift.

The solar mower is a great idea...    Make one like the indoor robot Vacuums.  Let the thing mow the grass on it's own. You have a winner!!!

Does this extended flight time surprise you?
It’s going to be necessary to have longer flights, particularly in rescue situations and other valid missions.

This is an exciting time, in the rc drone arena.
