4 and I wring every last drop out of all of them every time I fly!

This dramatically shortens their life.

That statement is wrong. You just read the manual and than talk rubbish. This is purely "idiot proofing" on the DJI side. You can easily see that for example DJI spark on 0% battery have 3.5volts . There are videos where spark got stuck in clouds and hold in place for two minutes with 0% battery. So knowing the specifications of lipo battery and it's nominal , maximum and critical voltage per cell , we can use those battery with no worry to near 0% ALL TIMES.

I have 3 battery's

I have two and it works fine for me. I may eventually get another, but I can survive with two for the time being.

Three, because by the time I've burnt through the third battery my fingers are starting to get cold thanks to the wonderful UK autumn weather...!  I know, I need some gloves that work with the touchscreen

You are welcome to your opinions. You should do some more research on Lipo Batteries and then comment.

There is a big difference between the battery cell voltage on load and off.

Cheers

p.s. these batteries are LiHv's and have a higher charge voltage and a higher depleted volatge. But you of course already knew that yes?

They have  the same bottom voltage level , Not rocket scenie , just higher voltage LiPo.
You can have your opinion of course but , those things are here to make us happy and there is no worst way to kill fun like being paranoiac about your batteries .

Ok No problem. I could explain to you why sometimes DJI drones just drop from the Sky for no apparent reason but that would spoil your fun. Bye the way its the same reason that there was a a ban on Inspire batteries from commercially flying over people.

Cheers

One main and one spare. Actually, it doesn't happen often that I need the second battery. I remember only several photoshoots where it was necessary. My model is Spark by the way. I think it should be mentioned to get more detailed info about usage of batteries. And to know about the model itself you can read drone reviews. This is a good article tho.

Already have Mavic Air, Phantom 4 Pro Plus and Phantom 3 Pro. 2 Mavic Pros, and 2 Mavic 2s. pro and Zoom.

I am a flight instructor and use the Sparks for Students as well as using 3 Tellos for the 5 to 8 Age group..

I have 4. I bought the Spark and one spare battery initially. Then I realized I will need at least one other, but I also came across the Spark Portable Charger bundled with the two batteries for $139, and had to jump on that (two batteries alone would be $100). So now I should be good for anything. I just didn't want to invest in this nice little drone but then have to stop flying for 45 minutes because I'm out of juice. That would not make sense.
