My neighbour wanted to buy a sit-on lawn mower. The shop asked how steep his lawn was because that influenced the choice of machine. Knowing that I was a surveyor, he asked me to measure it - expecting me to get out my survey instruments. I got out my Spark instead and without leaving my balcony, I measured the height and distance to the top and bottom slope of his lawn and worked out the incline for him.

I've always wondered what my backyard slope is.  This would be an easy way to measure it out to get that rough calculation!
Will be doing this soon (if this rain ever moves out! LoL)

Fly to top of slope and measure height and distance. Ditto to bottom of slope. Subtract two distances and two heights and you have change of height over a known distance. Simples. Not much use in Kuwait I seem to remember it was pretty flat there.
