Hello people,

Just done a bit of reading on the subject and it seems as if people are having to register there drones to be able to fly drones in Thailand>? And also pay a large sum for worldwide drone insurance too. With the registration process apparently taking two months and the worldwide insurance costing around £300 this all seems a little bit extreme......

Hoping someone can advise me here.

So I have a Spark and i have insurance which in fairness probably only covers me in the eu.

I'm aware how Thai police operate and really don't want any grief, fines or bribes to keep my drone!!! So i'm aware of LOS rules and only 90M height limit.

Haha cheers bud i was literally just reading that!!!

As it appears i do have to register the spark to fly it in thailand.... I'm glad i checked or would of pointlessly taken a drone across the world and not felt confident to fly it!!!

Just trying to muddle my way through the thai website now!!!!

Ok, So here's my quote........... £160 UK Sterling!!!

I really need some advice here from you beautiful people. I'm getting 50 / 50 conflicting advise. Some people saying It's Thailand there chilled you'll be fine just don't be a d*ck. Then the other side of the coin YOU MUST be insureed and registered or you'll get huge fines, potential prison time and drone confiscated!!!

I really don't want to have to pay £160 for insurance and cover i probably don't need but at the same time don't want to have any sketchy situations.

I will be flying rural, no cities or towns only for a 2 week holiday and i'm a very respectful guy who really really doesn't want to even mildly annoy people!!!!

Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated.

Have you flown there recently? Where abouts? Did you register and insure??

I'm hoping that's not sarcasm! ;)

Just hoping someone can help me make the decision as to whether i shell out the £160 or just to fly it carefully and sensibly without registering and insuring!!!

You're probably right................I wish you weren't!!

I've been leaning more towards 100% covering my arse and paying £160 purely for piece of mind!!!!!

Well if you have spare money then for peace of mind you can get cover and forms filled out for you at a fee of £160 UK Sterling / 7000 Thai BAHT.... I am like i say tempted to do exactly that although many people do not do this and just take there drone and fly very sensibly. Indonesia prob would be hot yes but  not much different to thailands heat /humidity i wouldnt of thought>?
