Recently, the forum has been plagued with spam and advertisements posts, so to help preserve the discussion environment on the DJI Forum and prevent these spam and ads, we have decided to adjust the user rights of the user groups. The point system of the “New” group has been changed to 0~20 points, and this group of users is not able to create new posts.

Here are the details of the adjustment:

How does a new person reach lvl.1 in order to post a new thread?


While I appreciate your aims I think this will result in new people not engaging with the forum and so it will be become irrelevant / useless except as a club for existing members.
I also think it will result in a false impression of the number of users with issues as anyone new would not be able to post a new thread reporting an issue and asking for help.

I also think it will not meet your aims. Spam will simply get posted as replies rather than new posts.


Sorry - I think this is a huge mistake.

I think this is the real problem. Nobody is reviewing and dealing with spam reports. Therefore people stop reporting them and the situation just gets worse.

i reported these post as "Spam"  long long time ago (months even a year)....... spam is still there

I think preventing spammers from posting their crap instead of having to deal with it every day will work better for both the admins and us users. That's if it works, of course, but I think it's worth a try.

Does the report button have any purpose? I've been reporting hundreds of spam messages monts ago ... many of these "spam posts" are still there

what a human can  not do, a programmed bot can do with keywords such as: diet, miracle  diet, , fake cards etc.etc etc.

hehe

So how are you going to keep guys like me out to maintain forum quality?

The new one can reply the post, but do not able to create a new post. Search before asking.

Sounds good, like in most forums these day.

Wish there could a be a fewer ranks above Captain too though!

I was hoping to see a response to this. I’m a brand new member, and though I don’t want to create any new posts at this time, I would love to see an explanation of how one earns points and if there is a way to check my points in my account?

Yeah this.

The forum has become a private club for existing users and alienates new users who can't post their issues and so won't bother to hang around. This is the beginning of the end as people drift away and aren't replaced by new blood.

It also means that new users don't report issues which just masks issues and makes DJI look better rather than dealing with any problems.

Oh and the whole thing is limited anyway as it can be bypassed by posting rubbish replies on old posts.

Sorry but I think this approach is rubbish and makes the forum useless.

Thank you, that's exactly what I was thinking - people will respond with nonsense to get the points. Essentially it's punishing the end user for spam - which is nothing to do with the end user.  

I know these forums are popular but they should/could have plenty of moderators, that can use the banhammer to ban spammers and delete spam posts etc - zero tolerance spam policies that I see working well on other popular forums.

They should reward people points for reporting spammers  - that way, mods, and admins can get notifications quickly on spam posts and the points may incentivize people to report spam.  If you get enough points you can have more customizable options as part of the points incentive.

But no, lets just take it out on new users.

If it's any consolation, I joined Mavic Pilots. Seems like a nice community and everyone is very helpful.

If you check your file, at this time, you are only one point short of making it.  Log back in one more day and you got it.  You get points every day when you log in.
