Hi:
Happened to at least two batteries. Took off with both batteries at 100%. Suddenly an indication saying it was too much difference between batteries to notice that one of them shows 0%. Landing ASAP with no major issues. The battery showing 0% in the APP shows only one LED blinking. If we put it again in the charger, in a short time shows fully charged, but if we try to fly with it, happens the same
I understand a progressive shortening of the battery performance with age, but not suddenly showing 0%
Any clue? Software bug?

If the batteries are on he latest FW try fully charging them and let them sit for at least 3 days, don’t touch them or press the button. Then after 3 days fully charge and report back if that’s fixed the issue

Thanks!
I will try
The batteries were paired and we share them with two i2: one with v 1.01.01 and one with 1.02.01
Only one failed. They are about 70 cycles charged

It could be, but only one failed this way. And they´re both in the same situation
Besides, when we see "inconsistent firmware" we just update everything

Tested it once again:
Shortly after take off one battery shows 0%
There is a warning about this
The battery voltage it is still normal in both batteries and the drone behaves OK (I only made it hover close to me)
I have the low batterie alarm in 35%. As the bird thought it was running on one battery, displayed "low battery warning" when the other battery hit 66%
Landed
Checked battery voltage: showed the same in both batteries. They were paired. All cell perfectly even, but one battery showing 60% and the other 0%.
We swap batteries between two drones with different FW, but this batteries never showed "inconsistent firmware" warning

I have exactly the same issue.

I have 24 batteries total and they are all paired so we have 12 pairs.

One pair, Same firmware, shows same voltage in all cells, however readout says 0% only one light blinks.

Takes about 2 mins to charge to  "fully charge" 4 LEDs on.

Yes
The same here
RTH starts at 66% as the bird think it is flying with one battery only
Obviously the battery cells are OK but some FW problem or something show an incorrect percentage.
In our case, we share batteries with two I2 with different FW (01.02.0100 and 01.01.0010). When we switch drones, we can find "Inconsistent fw found". We run the update in those cases, but it didn´t cure the "0%" situation...
Any help DJI? permanent failure or something that can be fixed?

I had two sets that did this. As mentioned in previous posts only one in the pair went to 0%. Both complete pairs
went back to DJI under warranty. DJI sent back 2 brand new sets. This would suggest a battery problem rather than firmware etc.

We lost another battery this week end because of this. These are out of warranty.
It must be a FW problem as batteries are ok checking cells voltage.

Why cannot anybody from DJI give us a clue? We lost another pair this weekend. One of the two showing 0% once the Inspire took off. 100% in both after charging them.
The only clue we have: the batteries were used in an Inspire with FW 1.01.0100 and then in another with 1.02.0100. We don´t want to update the 1.01.0100 bird as is working just fine regarding live transmission. We are having issues with the 1.02.0100 version.
We now have four pairs grounded. We don´t want to start mixing batteries with different times charged

This is a safety notice emailed to me today and issued by the CAA which forbids any operation of the DJI M200 Series whilst flying over people or within 50M of property.

Basically a number big enough to concern the CAA of M200's have fallen out of the sky in the UK due to power failure while showing plenty left in the battery.

Interesting that they use the same battery of the I2..

DJI is investigating reports that a small number of TB50 and TB55 batteries have shown incorrect  power levels that have led to loss of power mid-flight.

Any customer who believes he or she may have experienced a related power problem involving the TB50 or TB55 battery should contact DJI customer service

We're always moaning about DJI releasing untested, faulty FW . They do it all the time and ground pilots sometimes for months after spending substantial money on there equipment.

Maybe this will be wake up call that the FW  should work before been released.

It's not good enough to say they don't know he issues until it's out in the field. They should test it out in the field or pay us to do so.

Really bad news

I thought the point of having two batteries in the I2 was so if one fails the AC can still fly with one?

Whats the chance of both failing at the same time??

We stopped using every battery that failed. We grounded four pairs. First words from our local dealer were "they more than six months old, so they are out of warranty" without investigating what was going on or if something could be done.
I think in this case it must be a recall of all the suspected batteries, inside warranty period or not, if the risk is falling from the sky

Well, I think it could be our case if BOTH batteries read 0%... the result could be the drone falling from the sky like the documented M200

Opened a case in DJI Support:
"If it's beyond warranty period, you may need to buy another one"
Washing hands
If there is a newsletter from DJI saying there are faulty batteries out there, they should respond and support customers. Saying "may be it´s a faulty battery but now it´s too late. discard them and buy new ones" is really unfair. Really angry.
And as we discovered, they may fail at any time. I hope we do not discover that we still have faulty batteries and both reads 0% at the same time.

Can DJI provide an estimation on a Firmware Update for this failed battery issue?

DJi sent an e-mail to their customers on Nov. 2, 2018.

Here an excerpt:

DJI is taking this step out of an abundance of caution, and we are urgently working on a mitigation plan to allow customers to confidently use these batteries again as soon as possible. DJI is working on a firmware update for the affected batteries which will provide improvements to flight safety and be made available in two weeks. DJI will promptly update customers on the status of these efforts.

I fully charged a pair of packs

Went out int en field did a pre flight and noticed 1 LED flashing on both batteries. Scratch that flight
Eventually discharged the packs and no problems since except when i store fully charged packs.

I use that same pair a month later no worries

What do you mean with "except when I store full charged packs"?. So you store them half charged and charge them just after using them? What if you charge the battery and you do not use it that day? Will you have problems next time you use it?
