Hello, I'm not sure what went wrong but I can't seem to get my phantom 3 pro camera to shoot nice 4K images any more. I'm only getting like low res 720 images and they are really soft and not crisp.

I used to get nice crisp images but something changed and I don't know what. I've reset my camera settings and tried again but they are still soft. Is there a setting that changes them from 4K?

One thing is, I used to shoot jpeg and now i'm shooting raw. is that the problem? If RAW is supposed to be better quality, I can't see why it would be a lower res image?

Pardon my stupidity, but maybe someone can help.

Your camera should be able to shoot 4000 x 3000 stills.
Are you looking at DNG files or jpg?
It sounds like you are seeing the embedded jpg thumbnail which is much smaller than the actual images.

Ok. thanks for the help. Thats exactly what it is.

I found a few other threads explaining how the dng file uses a low res preview file. I've saved the dng as a jpeg through adobe camera raw and its a full res file.

Thanks guys.

I'm having same problem.
I'm shooting jpeg and raw same time. Jpeg for watching, and raw for wditing and printing.
But my computer is not recognizing DNG files, and it ahows 900X600 res.
All I did is open DNG files in Adobe Lightroom and aave them. This will change res to same res as jpg files. Another option is download RAW FILES EDITOR. You can batch all files is ones.
Rest, when I came back from vacation, in two weeks.

Is that an old version of LightrooM?
You can only open dng files if you have the right software.
