Apologies as this has probably been discussed many times in the past.
I'm editing in Premiere Pro on an Apple computer, does it matter whether I shoot in MOV or MP4 format? I've read some people suggesting it's down to what computer/software you use, could someone please clarify this.
I have read several articles and seen as many "how to" videos that claim it makes no difference. The protocol is simply a wrapper around the video but doesn't effect the resultant quality or playback.
Yes, it's only a container. The codec matters and it's the same. But as far as my experience goes ... if you use After effects, the MP4-Format can be decoded faster and so you get a better performance. Don't know if this translates in other host applications.
Hi, thanks for reaching DJI Forum. We do appreciate bringing this query to us. Both MOV and MP4 do not have any real effect on the encoded video qualities. They just act like containers. The choice between MOV and MP4 is simple, provided you know the area of application. Based on the place where you need to play the resulting videos, you can choose between MOV and MP4. Thank you.
