Dear all pilots. My poll here want to ask you that how big does memory card that you tend to use. I have a friend usually use 128GB memory card for capturing photos and videos, he and me have small argument that: bigger card may convince in storage but may to broken lead to loose of data(i have lost several valuable footages with 128GB memory card due to broken down, the brand i used mostly SanDisk). I usually use 64GB or below, carry many cards but safer. I need your kindly to give me idea. Thank you very much and have good flights.

I use Samsung EVO 128GB Micro SD card for my Mavic Pro and 32GB for my Spark. I find no less than the 128GB is ideal for the Mavic Pro given I like to shoot everything in 4K Cinematic 4096x2160p and that takes up ~4GB per file size for 12 mins of flight time. My 32GB Micro SD card for the Spark is more than enough as file sizes usually take up ~2GB per file size. If you're like me and like to stick your Micro SD card into a Flash USB drive to your smartTV, then 128GB will give you around 30 flights to choose from before choosing your final post-production videos.

2 x 64GB. Only because I got them on sale for the same price as the 32GB. I like to keep the storage rolling so that photos and footage from my last few trips are still on the card in the event something goes wrong while I'm editing and backing up after each flight.

Thank you all pilots for your participation. I rarely use memory card bigger than 64GB because of data may loosing due to its error, I usually bring with me 2 or 3 memory cards from 32GB to 64GB. I use SanDisk brand. Do you use any other brand?

I personally have a preference towards Samsung these days. I have used multiple SanDisks in my mobile phones (which have a higher read/write cycle than a camera) and have had the SanDisks fail sooner than the Samsungs. Not a conclusive answer on reliability, but it has set my preferences. Plus they are typically better value here.

16GB: Must change the SD card way too often and it's a pain.32GB: Just the perfect size for me (but I have lots of them).
64GB: End up flying around with data that could get lost in a crash.

If anyone wants a micro SD card that transfers data onto you computer super fast, this card is amazing:
Delkin DDMSDB190064 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D4Y ... p_tai_8xFLBbKRBP3JV
But your computer must be advanced enough to have a UHS-II card reader to take advantage of the speed, or you can get a UHS-II USB dongle. I tested the speed, and data transfers from this card to my computer at 230GB/s

Also it's worth buying one of these Lexars for the little USB adapter that comes with, that way if your computer doesn't have a UHS-II reader, you still get the speed from the USB port.

Actually i just worry that if i recorded too much on it and loose data or any way card damage, i still have some left from other one. That is my personal thought. ofcourse I love big memory card, i do not have to bring many of them. The reason made me worry is I have lost several important footages with my love one due to card error - i had recorded on 128GB card too, I did not turn on save cache too

I use a Sandisk Extreme Pro 64 GB card in my Mavic 2 Pro. Strangely, this card that I have formatted in the drone cannot be read from my MacBook Pro, it seems it does not recognise the file system. So I need either to read it from a Windows machine, or by connecting the drone to the computer, which is stupid as it needs to be on during all the time of the download...
I will create a new thread for this to see if other people have the same issue.

I use 64GB because they are used in other equipment that needs that size. For drone use only, I would just use 16GB, 1 per flight, in case of loss.

Backup all your footage every day. When I used smaller cards then I was having to swap and save cards, and THAT is how you lose a card or lose footage. I think it's better to only worry about the location of 1 card. Just my two cents.

I had 32GB Lexar 633x and 64GB Sandisk Ultra, but when I got new Mavic 2 Pro, speed of those two cards was not fast enough for 100Mbps 4K video.
I bought one 128GB Sandisk Extreme Pro XC I. 128GB is better size for me as I often forgot to format card after previous shoot. Even this happens twice, I still have enough space.

Faster card is convenient, not only for videos, but when shooting panorama or AEB. AEB 5 shots takes  less that 5 sec to save with Exreme Pro, instead of 20-30 sec with Sandisk Ultra.

128GB - With Mavic 2 Pro using 100mbps, 4K files are ~850MB / Min and that adds up when / if on a trip with multiple locations.
