I lost contact with my Mavic Pro this evening and it dropped 390 feet onto a concrete skateboard park with kids nearby. I have over 160 hours of flight time and I have never experienced anything like this. The weather was perfect. I was only 450 away and then something happened and it fell, leaving me stunned, confused, and scared to death that it may have injured someone. Luckily, no one was hurt!

I need assistance from a DJI specialist to analyze my flight data. I cannot figure this out.

Have you checked your batteries or did you ever renew them? If my calculation is correct, 160 hours of flighttime amount to 480 full charging cycles minimum. Depending on how many batteries you have and if you used them equally this is quite a lot.

Sorry to read that
I think DJI says that the batteries duration is 200 charge cycles.

Fly safely all

assuming alot though, he could been flying on brand new or relatively new packs as well, hard to say without data to look at or him returning to update us.

as someone wtih a mavic pro pack thats got 250+ cycles on it, my degradation has been fairly minimal.. if im smooth and in position mode, i get around 20 minutes out of it..  but if i use sport mode i get battery errors on it about over discharge.   before i sell this drone, that battery im replacing..

I fully agree with you and until now I am not assuming anything because there are far too many unknown possible factors in this case. I just tried to get some information on one of the possibilities since from the description of the incident a sudden shutdown because of power loss is at least one possible scenario.
We have to wait for OP to provide the flightrecord and other details which might help to find an explanation. And thorough data analysis by DJI will be required anyway.

yep..  so many possibilities..  prop failure, motor failure, bird strike, something thrown at it, battery failure, thermal protection, etc etc..

I have 10 batteries. The flight logs reported no problems with the battery.

Many of the "failures" you suggest would show some indication of a malfunction within the flight logs. There were no anomalies noted.

Then simply open a support ticket with DJI and let them analyse the data: https://www.dji.com/support

depends on a couple things... but yes most likely most would appear in log only thing may fail to appear i mentioned would be if battery protection suddenly cut in.. may not get a warning in that case..may just abruptly kill power to stop a lithium runaway event..

I'm curious on this one regarding warranty. If this happened what would be the outcome? Warranty or replacement/repair paid by the customer?

How are all of you people keeping track of the number of charges/flights? I bought the fly more bundle with 3 batteries and can't keep track of how many charges they all have lol

You can find the battery cycle count in the following section of DJI GO:

without the hardware like the drone and battery, unlikely to get a successful claim unless the logs captured it to prove it.

Generally, DJI will offer a small amount off a new one.

I had a situation with my Mavic back a year or so ago where I got battery warnings mid flight over a lake.    I brought it back home immediately and when I landed I saw that my battery wasn't completely seated!    Total horror!    I was extremely lucky it didn't come out just a little more and drop into the lake.

ohhhhhh man.... 160 hours, more than 2 million meters and then this??   I guess we can never feel completely confident.  I was hoping that one day I could just feel the joy without the constant fear...  but alas... it seems its not to be.
