Mavic 2 pro - Activation Failed - error 400

Hi, I am trying to activate my Mavic 2 Pro but it always says:

Activation Failed
“Activation failed, Server error(400), please retry. If it still fails after retry, please contact DJI Support”

I tried via wifi and cell data connection, same result.

My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S8 with android 8.0 and aircraft and remote control are updated to version 1.00

This is the serial number: 163DF8J0014366

Any idea to solve it?

You have to do the first update using DJI Assistant 2 for the Mavic Pro 2 on a computer. It will not work if you try doing it like with a phone.

Same here, can't activate M2P Smart Controller, Server error (400).
Can You help me?

EDIT: Inserted microsd card into Smart Controller prevents from activation. Removing a card and reboot controller problem solved.

Hello Susan,

The same problem with my Mavic 2 Pro (163DFBM001HGJT). Bought in local store in Ukraine, Europe. Can not activate with Server error 400.

Reboots and inserting / removing SD-card do not help.

Can you please advice me?

Hello all,

Read through almost all these reports. It’s 3/26/20 my mav 2 just arrived. I as well am getting the “ activation failure” “ network error” spoken to support and 3 Pro drone operators and no luck. Support claims they are aware of the issue but can say when this will be fixed and I have three very large projects tomorrow and freaking out at this moment.

I’ve already tried the following:

*Changing drone name
*trying different phones, iPads and network connection
*Upgrading all firmware on drone and remote
*downgrading all firmware
*reinstalling app
Etc

I’ve been at this for over 4 hours and exhausted all resources and on the urge of returning. someone SOS!

Hi, I have exactly the same problem, have spent 6 hours to try to activate my new Mavic 2 Zoom. Its extremely frustrating when buying a 1500Euro equipment and run into a simple activation issue. For me it says Activation Failed, Network error. I saw that they had the same issue back in 2017 and it took 5 days before it was fixed, a server problem at DJI, Now we are there again. Last time it was impossible to get a straight answer from them, seems to be the same this time. Not the market leader company I thought they were. Really questioning my investment now, bad first taste for sure.

Yes, the processor gets very hot unless it is being cooled by the fan.

I’m located here in the states. This is absurd, such a pointless unneeded step they require us to follow for absolutely no reason. When I try and boot the app it connects to camera I can see it and everything then this activation process comes out of no where and blocked all connection. Have you tried any other steps ?

Yes, I believe the fan is fine. No worries there. Like I said before,  I spent a whole hour on the phone with support and he couldn’t give any reassurance this will be fixed promptly. Very frustrating.
