Hey guys !

Just realised DJI released their official D-Log > REC709 LUT.

I just did some tests and I'm not really a fan of the look out of the box.
The colors feel too vibrant/saturated to my taste. Some of my landscapes shots turn brownish where it shouldn't, in my opinion.


I don't have time right now to show some images, but here's the LUT I've been using as a base: https://www53.zippyshare.com/v/DuHuXmQ2/file.html
It's the Blackmagic 4.6k Film to Extended Video v4 LUT. I love using it for my Ursa Mini and I discovered it works really well with the M2Pro footage !
I think it gives more natural colors; they aren't too vibrant.

Here's an example (I adjusted shadows and saturation slightly to match them)




The official LUT made it look like Mars, and it wasn't like that at all.

It's a .cube file, no zip or executable.

If you still have doubts, you can get the LUT from the Davinci Resolve LUT folder ;)

If yo are on Davinci 15 it's already in the LUT folder....

I just applied it to a video and didn't experience better results than with the official LUT.
You are right - that one is quite over saturated.
But I find it a pretty good base for further adjustments.

Still learning about LUTs and I find this here very helpful, esp where it's about applying nodes before the LUT comes in:

Yeah I don't get it either. It's pretty weird as a starting point to grade.
It looks like it was made for more amateurs customers: shiny vibrant colors to test their new 4k OLED TV :p

It does strange things to the sky as well, the blues turn into a cartoonish style.
