Well, it was not the best weekend for flying at all... Friday night we  had a crazy windstorm, took down two large trees in the driveway, and  near us there were tornado touchdowns...  bad scene there, we were  lucky.  However, I did manage to get RooBeeRed up into the sky briefly  twice, and late Saturday evening before it was turly dark, i went up and  snapped this pano...  The rest of the weekend was either storm cleanup  or more rain...

I am on the fence about the 180 pano (like this one) versus the horizontal.... I think there is a little too much distortion in the 180....  But its quicker in the air.

Ya, that would be logical, I was pushing the envelope on light this particular time, and the wife was waiting on me for something (as always!) so it was a tad rushed.

I do prefer the horizontal... looking back at some of my previous panos.

Great photo. Do like it.  So you have maybe a change to capture a moonrise and sunset in one.

On the wind conditions. We are also experiencing higher and more persisting wind conditions than normal. The wind has been blowing for more than a month every day 18 to 30km/h. Local farmer has lost 200 head of cattle due to veld fire, dry conditions and the wind.

Nice shot, and good time to shoot it, too. The foreground is easily visible, and the moon isn't so blown out that it looks like the sun. Good exposure.

Thank you.... I am in north eastern Ontario, close to the Quebec border, about 5 hours north (by car) of the US border...  That shot was facing south.  I used Microsoft ICE to create that pano from the images on the SD card.

Yes, it is a fairly easy piece of software to use. And since it is free, you can't beat the price! I have used it with other photos I have taken with my "regular" camera and the results are really good, even without using a tripod.
