I seek explanation and your advise for this drifting
Today i drew a green box on the top of the tower to start smart circle mode  , suddenly my MA drifted as shown in this video
I quickly stopped it to avoid any trouble

What Mavic Platform, to me could just be wind.

Very strange was the cause may be.

Exactly this issue has been reported several times. People always say it's due to wind even though it's clearly not. Someone lost his drone due to this sudden drift.
I can't find the threads anymore but this seems to be another bug with the drone together with the dive attack in active track.

Yes exactly i agree with you Mr Saviour
if i proceeded in this shot  i am sure my drone will get lost or damaged and somebody there will say its pilot error  , heavy wind ...etc .

There are critical bugs inside  this drone though i am curious to update and calibrate frequently  if needed
DJI should find a new firmware where no bugs to lessen drones loss

My advice is to fly again but with a screen recorder as well.
So you can see what the app is showing, could it be that it did loose the subject??

You had some attitude warning, so there was enough wind blowing.As you stopped the tracking mode, see the roll angle change at 3300 ID. With zero wind conditions the angles would be next to level, so imo there was a lot of wind flying there.

I had the same yesterday in Germany. The Air suddendly driftedtowards a house wall. It nearly crashed (did´t automatically stop - no obstacle avoidance). I stopped it only centimeters before the crash. Strange!

If this was due to wind he wouldn't be able to stop it has he described. The drift would just go on until it crashes but I suppose that OP got full control over the drone after aborting the mission.

The OP draw a circle top of the building, he flew lower than the building.
OP stopped the drifting, drone did n ot drifted afterwards (well he did not say so)

As you can see in the video the turning point was not on the building after few seconds.
So my guess is it did lost the  tracking and started to drift away for the turning point.

But mayby i am wrong, that`s why i suggest to fly again with a screen recorder on.
I never fly without because its so usefull to see what the DJI app shows us. (and not all messages are in the flightlog logged)

does large diameter circle mode affect this mission ?
as you see the tower more than 100 m far from the drone  , should i make less distance next time or its ok what ever the distance ?

That's what i was wondering if the drone can perform from so for away the drone never locked in on what it was supposed to?

Good question! don`t know the max distance of this mode.
Guess as long as you can lock and get a GO....distance accepted :-)

I use DU screen recorder, works great!

I agree with other posters here on having the MA circle an item from so far away and being lower that it is when setting the parameters.  Drawing a green box on the flat side of a building  really gives the MA no good reference point to make the loop.

Generally when this is done the subject is lower than the drone.

The drone did not drift.  You can see the front right prop in the video as the drone pulled hard to that side.  I’m sure the cpu was completely lost as to what it was supposed to rotate around.

Today i repeated the circle mode as i was advised before on   middle of the building  and i flew above it  , unfortunately failed again
i did a proper calibration after i downloaded the newest firmware  as well.
In my opinion ,circle  mode cannot go beyond certain radius  ,isn't it?   .
