I have tested the cable with the Ronin S together with my a6500 + Sony Fe 24-105mm g lens. The cable is working as intended.
Half pressing on the record button on the ronin s activates the auto focus on the camera.
Long pressing the recording button will activate auto focus followed by a picture taken.
Half pressing the recording button and then releasing will activate auto focus followed by a recording video function.
In the ronin s app under “create” you can map out waypoints for motion lapse or use the timelapse feature. Select the intervals you want the shot to be taken and the duration you want your timelapse/hyperlapse to be, select the frames per second your desired output. And press the white circle button on your phone to start. The ronin s acts as a remote shutter for the timelapse and will follow the movement you have created in the app. Do take note that you have to manually set the white balance, focus point, exposure manually on your campers though.
For the focus pull wheel, it still does not allow maniacal focus pull which I hope will be fixed in the firmware to come. However you can use it to zoom in and out if you have a pz lens like the 18-105mm. The clear image zoom works well and I have tested this as well.
Overall I’m happy with the cable although it’s really a pity that I paid almost 50 us days including shipping for the cable. Hope DJI will be able to at least give us a discounted price or waive off the shipping. |
