Hi all,

I got the mavic 2 pro, and when i set it to Dlog it is using the h265 and when i try to edit with my MBP 16 its lagging a lot and i'm not able to play it win quicktime. After readingsome articles i found the skylake doesn't support HEVC and thats the reason. Is there a way i can use the DLog with h264 ?? so  i can work it in my MBP

Thank you

Sorry I don't know. Actually I am using my iPad Pro 10.5 with lumafusion and it works very good. I tried to use my laptop with premiere but it was too slow.

I don't use one, but I believe you can use an HEVC converter to convert your H.265 to H.264. There are several free ones out there like:

No chance.  H264 simply hasnt got anything like the required bit rate to record dlog 10 bit at 100mbps.  Easiest option is to create a proxy in premiere to edit off.

OP, are you running High Sierra or Mojave OS?
Both OS support HEVC decoding. Look at this: Apple and HEVC support

A more powerful Mac will deliver better HEVC performance. The playback of 4K HEVC content requires a Mac with a sixth‑generation Intel Core processor or newer.

Sixth gen is Skylake, seventh gen is Kabylake

- Skylake Macs: fully hardware HEVC 8bit and hybrid HEVC 10bit
- Kabylake Macs and newer: fully hardware HEVC 8bit and 10bit

export it from H265 to a other codec in your edit software.
Or buy a new Mac, the new mac's play it easily

hi, I try to import d-log via SD card reader from Apple.  It would not import 4k 30fps file.  Does it work for you?

The problem is h.265. Before IOS12 video clips could be imported without issues. Now the only way I found working is to use iTunes.

It's kind of pathetic that H.265 seems to be such a lame codec and DJI users are forced to try to convert to some sort of codec so as not to get jitter.I have the lates Mac Studio and I do not mismatch my frame rates on my timeline in Premiere Pro but is seems that H.265 the Codec you are forced to use with the colour spaces other than normal is horrendous. So if you need to shoot HDR or D-Log on  an Air3S or below you are out of luck because you are going to get crappy unstable footage with jitter. I am not going t spend the money o buy a Mavic that uses the pro res codec but I do think it should be standard. The Air 3S and down are much more sumer than pro. Don't fool yourself into thinking yo can shoot cinema or TV with this. Very low end. If it was jut the image that was low end ok but the jitter is unbearable and unacceptable. The images could be good enough for say factual TV but the jitter makes it unusable. Do better DJI. We shouldn't have to spend time on stuff like this. DJI air 3S and down make good Christmas presents but thats all..
